Pacesetter LT owners - your thoughts?
I've searched a bit but it's more conclusive to simply ask.
I'm probably going to buy the Pacesetter LTs and their Y-pipe. Total is like $415. I hear they have a few issues with leaks but it's nothing I can't deal with - especially for the price.
Did anyone have any specific issues with them that they could advise me on? Any installation hints?
Thanks,
- Tony.

Undo the steering column and get a new oil sending unit too.
My Race LTs have a little ity bit of rust were the block off plate is on the drivers header. No leaks at all though. At least non i can hear.

i am still having problems with my y-pipe hiting the floor pan, right where pacesetter put the notch in it for that, but i still am tryin to get that worked out. Also my pass side header was rubbing on the tranny bell housing. I just shaved alittle off the bell housing and thats fixed. Other then those two issues everything else is fine.
I had shorties, and the drivers side had to be bent in to get around the steering. I am getting Hooker Super Comp LT's with a Y pipe, Pacesetters are cheaper, yes, but you get what you pay for. Mine started to rust, and they were only on the car for 9 months.
I have coated Pacesetter LT's with matching Y-Pipe and I love that setup. No leaking at all and it looks great. My Y-pipe only bangs under hard acceleration but its not too bad. Best bang for the buck LT and ORY setup.
FWIW - I had mine ceramic coated and they're showing signs of rust on the bottom. From the top of the engine they look brand new. This is after 8 months of having them. But like it was said before "you get what you pay for".

yeah I'm going to have them coated locally, that's why I'm buying the uncoated ones.
So how many people have problems with the steering hitting it? I'd rather not pull the column if I don't have to.

You have to pull the column to install them! The only problem i have with mine are that there turning brown at the bottoms, since pacesetter has a 3yr warranty on there coating when i do my heads they will be sent back out for recoating. The floorboard & clearance issues havent been a problem in either of my Z's
