Thanks Tony .

I've decided not to ship it freight. However, I've thought it over and to help get rid of it I've decided that I could deliver it anywhere within a 250mile radius of Houston for an additional fee of 150 bucks. FWIW, A freight company quoted me 175-200 bucks to ship it.

That address is for Irving, TX, right? If so, I'd deliver it...

Still have it, it is still in the car. If someone wants it, ahs money, and wants to meet Saturday, I'm ready to go. I can't hold it without a deposit though. IOW, if you want it but can't meet until next weekend, you need to make a deposit.

Everything fell through. Back up for sale.

To answer a common question:

Mileage. I bought it used from a guy, and since have put about 250 miles on it.

I'll go 1400, but only for a stock rear in return. The stock rear does not have to be working. Just need something to bolt the tires on and roll the car around...

What do you mean it whines during decel? Were the gears not set up right or is it just normal for a 12 bolt?

Cruise up to 60mph, let off the gas and coast in gear (IOW, with a load on the drivetrain) and it will whine until 50mph and then it stops.

I've heard about about 2-3 aftermarket rear ends that don't whine. Its almost a guarantee that if Moser sets it up its going to whine. They (Moser) say because of the gear manufacturing techinque (angle cut of the gears). Others say its just a lousy install job. I don't know.

Well if it is a lousy install job, and the things blows up, wouldn't it be a waste of $1500? ( I dont mean to knock on your thread, I am interested in it, but I just wanna be sure it will last)

Now you can understand why 90% of us are PO'd at Moser . There is absolutely no guarantee. If it "blows up," you're looking at a new gear set and install kit for a couple hundred bucks. Considering you'll spend nearly 3k without brakes, have to remove your backing plates and have the associated downtime to have someone press on the axle bearings, the 1500 is not too bad. Heck, you could go right ahead and take it to your trusted mechanic and have him replace the guts and have more peace of mind. I wouldn't. I'd just run it and beat on it. If the noise makes you worry, just have someone reset the current gear set in there. Then, you're only out a little labor. Just a thought.

Good luck. Unfortunately, there aren't many options. Just price out the guts and it adds up quick .

Not trying to put a sales job on ya, just speaking from experience.
