Steering Wheel Movement..??

Default Steering Wheel Movement..??

ok when im in my 04 elantra or dads truck/vette I pull on the steering wheel and it stays in place but I get in my 94 formy and I can move it ever so slightly like tilt alittle bit but its locked (im not pushing the movement thing)


whats the deal? I know when Im braking real hard or something and im gripping the wheel real hard I dont want this movement steering needs to be firm

It sounds like the tilt mechanism isn't locking properly. It could be that when you adjust it, it's not being locked in positively. Some designs are not infinite, but have distinct locking locations. So after adjusting the wheel where you want it, try one hard push and pull to make sure it locks in. After that does it move again?

Also does the entire column move or just at the tilt joint?

My 96 TA does the same thing. Its not bad but it will move up and down a little. Make a post in the LT1 section and see if other people have this same problem.

just tilt joint i believe (what it feels like) car steers fine

mine moves eh a inch or 2, its just at the joint i took off the bezel of the cluster today and it doesnt move any further down really
