Default Stock Hurst?

I've tried searching under hurst and stock hurst even how to tell hurst.

How can one tell if they have a hurst car stock?

I have a well loaded 99 z28 it came pre riced when I bought it with a horrid **** lol since been replaced but I dunno if its a hurst car or not.

I've been wanting to upgrade the shifter setup but drove a stock hurst car with just a stick and liked that so if my car is a hurst no need to buy one.

Is there a way I can tell from my vin of must I rip the whole setup apart to find out?

Forgive the noobish question.

You can pull the console, and rubber boot underneath to look at the shifter. How does the shifter feel? Does it have a really long through, so is it short, and tight? My buddies Firehawk didnt have the hurst, and it felt like crap and had a LONG throw compared to our factory hurst.

To find out for sure, remove the center console and take a look at the shifter.

If your car came from GM with the Hurst shifter....

The door stick with the RPO codes will have the code " BBS "

BBS = Hurst Shifter

So when you physically look at it, what are you looking for? Is there a part number or does it say Hurst on it somewhere?

The base is goldish in color, with no markings on it at all.

nice comparo pic!

Hurst unit looks nice, I figure doing that and a short stick will make me happy if not resell it down the line.

Hurst car I drove I liked, he had stick too so I wasn't sure what made his better.

I suggest the Ripper Shifter from B&M. It is quite and works well. Get the b&m ripper. After I got mine from a budy (free) I had given my stock hurst to another budy (free). we are all just a bunch of givers... haha.
