Things that can break a working LC-1:
a. shorting either of the analog outputs to power or ground.
b. flashing new firmware to it (don't do this).
I understand there's a bad batch from the factory, it's giving the LC-1 a bad rep.

they posted up that they're selling between 1500 and 2000 a month so a bat batch could be quite large
I installed mine using some spare parts from my LM1 and only problem I have is every once in a while it'll overheat (it's in my collector)... installing a new bung and heatsink should resolve it

I installed one, had the XD1 gauge, and LC1 on seperate power switches, and could never get it to work right. Uninstalled it 24 hours later.
I then connected it portable, with a direct battery connection, it appears to be stable about 70% or so, of it powering up and registering stoich airfuel.
I have always hated Bosch sensor based widebands, since they're questionable due to sensor drift over time.
I wish I could justify a AFM1000 like I use at work and be done with it, but since I can buy 8-10 LC1's for what it costs, it's hard to do, when I don't do private tuning.

I've got three now, the first one on my car has a bad analog out, so I can't record with it but otherwise it works fine.. then I have another one that I use on other people's cars that has worked great so far.. and now I have another one for my car that I haven't put on yet. I plan on sending my first one back to get worked on soon.

I drove my car this weekend for 400 HARD (car club cruise... RPMs never below 3000 RPM speeds rarely below 60, lots of twisties, lots of WOT, etc...) miles this weekend
Never once did it go into overheat mode... main difference? I had the subwoofer turned off (listening to FRS radios to keep up w/oncoming cars etc...)
so seems it's very voltage dependent... a drop and it'll hiccup .... I haev an ASP underdrive pulley, stock alternator pulley... I may install an alternator overdrive pulley soon to see if it helps

Wow... interesting post. Let me add some insight if I may. We are Innovates largest LC1 distributor in the country by far so I can give you the lowdown first hand as we have seen it all.
Here is what we have seen - for every 100 units we ship out we typically have 10 - 15 with problems. Typically we eliminate 50% of the problems over the phone as they are typically wiring or grounding issues. Of the other 7 or 8 we have those sent back to us. Typically 50% of those that come back work perfectly. We have a test bench in house to fully test the units. In some cases we ship the customer a brand new unit incase there is a possible intermittent issue. We then sell these at discount and I cannot remember one that has come back. The remaining 3 or 4 do have hard failures and typically it has to do with the outputs failing or tieing up or an application/customer issue. We are told the new revision fixed this issue. The new revision will ship in volume the end of this month. We have seen that so far but we will wait and see.
We have no tie to Innovate - we chose to integrate them with our gauges as the design and performance has been the best from all the units we have tested. Dynotune has 1000's of these units in the field in cars - trucks - ATV's - speedboats - bikes - Jet Skis - Snowmobiles and the list goes on.
