Thumbs down VFN fiberglass

I just wanted to say to anyone thinking about ordering through VFN, to reconisider. I had needed a new hood and ordered the 2 inch cowl on April 5th, they told me 4-6 weeks, with 6 weeks being the latest, well still no hood, and its the 18th of may, and I just got off the phone with them and they said it'll be ready next week, and that it should take another week for shipping.

From a search I thought theyd be the company to go with since I've read that a few people got there hoods in 3 weeks after ordering. Well this doesn't seem to be the case for me and strongly urge anyone thinking of buying there products that are in a rush, you'd probably want to find another company.

You're bitching because your hood is going to be two weeks late?

Is the delay of the hood keeping your car from running?

If you can't handle waiting two extra weeks for a custom hood to arrive at your doorstep then you might as well get out of modding cars.

Try having your car sitting in your garage for two months while you're waiting for your heads to be reworked, I bet your head would

Now if the hood arrives and it looks like a peice of **** or it's damaged then you have a legitimate complaint, but until then quit whining!!!!!!

VFN is usually pretty cool, I have been there many times. I'm sorry your hood took longer than expected.

I am just saying, they told me a certain time, and now they are saying even later, I payed for something and was promised something at a certain time and they haven't lived up to there word(maybe if I hadn't already payed for it, it would be a different story), and I am just leaving feedback, isn;t that what this section is for . I wasn't bashing the company its not like I am saying this is the worst ******* company what ******* **** vfn is, they are very friendly and I am just upset that they said it would be ready and I'd have it by now and I call up asking where it is and I find out its gonna be alittle longer. If you read the other posts on VFN it says they are timely, and well thats no the case anymore, just wanted to let people know( again isn't that what this section is for?)

BTW Richie Cabrone, you are breaking this forums rules, read the sticky at the very top, its under guidelines. Hope a moderator takes care of your post.

And I had someone back into my car, and was recommended this as a replacement since it cost the same as an OEM z28 hood, so having my car damaged is not exactly the most fun thing in the world.

I'm sure I will leave some positive feedback about the fittment when I actually recieve it(if that ever happens) seeing how everyone says they have zero issues with fitment.

Jimbo you've obviously never had a "serious" performance engine built.....

They can tell you it will be ready in a week and you've already paid.... 4 months later you are still waiting... i'd rather recieve a quality piece late than have a piece of **** show up on time....

Thats a real ***** *** way to reply to a thread there chump. :

I'd be a little pissed too if I had to wait that long for a hood too. Now that I've read this review, I might consider the possibility of going elsewhere to order a cowl hood before I schedule my car to go get repainted.

I guess the truth hurts. You're probably a whiney little bitch just like Jimbo.

Next time you order something and it doesn't show up on time have your mommy call the shop and handle the grown up stuff.

You Jimbo

This is great!!

If it makes you fill in better Jimbo those hoods are awesome. The fit and quality is A+ I was going to purchase one myself because my car is in the body shop as is yours, but I couldn't wait the 4 to 6 weeks. When I talked to VFN they were very nice and since I found a stock hood for $75 bucks. I might end up buying one anyways later on this summer. The guy I bought the stock hood from got the Sunoco hood for his car and believe me it was awesome.

I wanted to appologize on the delay on shipping your hood.
We did explain upfront when you placed the order that currently our production time was 5-6 weeks...it has been right about 6 1/2 weeks since you placed your order. It is shipping this afternoon for you (5-22). We are a small shop and are working 7 days a week to get everyone's products out as quickly as possible. We are generally able to stick our original production time, however, we have found ourselves more swamped in the production area then what we anticipated. We make quality items that both fit and look nice and I'm sure that you'll be happy when you recieve your hood. We have been a sponsor on this board for a few years and have never taken anyone's money and not give them their items in return.
Thank You.

I have never bought anything from them myself, but I have seen enough of their hoods to know that the company is top notch! On top of that, Ive been around for the whole process of ordering, shipping, recieving, install, etc. when my buddy's have ordered their products. From what Ive seen, they're better with getting stuff out on time than ANY aftermarket company Ive ever ordered from.
I wouldnt think twice to order one for my car if/when I decide to get into appearance stuff again.
Something Ive learned in this game of modding cars is that you absolutely HAVE to be patient. When your getting top of the line CUSTOM products, sometimes things beyond the control of the company happen and delay your order. Its a fact of life. DO NOT schedule work by others if you dont already have ALL parts needed. Things happen, and stuff gets delayed, you didnt buy a chinese made hood thats produced 100,000 at a time, you bought something that was made by hand, to order. aka CUSTOM
Like someone else said, if it was 2 months late for a deadline, Id be upset. But this hood is literally shipping a 1/2 week late! Thats nothing. Try waiting 6 months for a motor swap to begin from when you started ordering parts. I waited for an AFCO radiator for 6 weeks, on the day it was supposed to ship we found out that it would be another 2 weeks before it was available. Nothing to bitch about, its just the nature of the custom aftermarket. Get used to it

Dude, once you see the quality of that hood, you'll feel like an idiot for bitching about it being slightly late. Then, the right thing to do would be to man up and formally apologize for your derogatory statements.

I've been to vfn a couple times and done a test fit with them and they are awesome. Top notch people. When Jeanie says they are a small outfit, shes not joking. I think I only saw a handful of employees. Just from the test fit, I can tell you they will give you the best product you can buy. Sit tight and wait, you won't regret it!!
