New From Dart Billet LS blocks Dart is pleased to announce the strongest racing inspired block that can be used for the LS based engines to date. Dart has been building blocks now out of billet for use in Pro Mod racing now for months, being used by guys like Sonny Leonard, Gene Fulton, Charlie Buck, David Reher, all the biggest names out there in Pro Mod racing, and the trickest part is Dart knows how to put water jackets in with some of the trickest machining ever seen out there. With help from Kurt Urban from Wheel to Wheel, and input from the top teams out there using them in SCCA, Trans Am, and several other racing organizations Dart has taken that information and developed the strongest block yet for the LS engines, over 7 times stronger than the current C5R racing block that cost over $6000.00 for a cast block. Alot of guys wonder why billet? Simple no tooling cost, lower developmental cost, therefore lower cost. To make a cast aluminum block in all the different deck heights, cam locations, improve the oiling, etc, will require multiple patterns, costing over hundreds of thousands of dollars, we can make many deck heights, move the camshaft location, etc. without any additional cost. These blocks will hold more water than an OE production casting, will include Darton sleeves, stronger thicker decks, billet main caps, etc.
A little history of Dart and Billet blocks, we got started due to an overwhelming amount of calls from the Pro Mod, IHRA Pro Stock, Outlaw 10.5 guys, tractor pullers, 5" bore spacing and even now 5.2" bore spacing blocks. We went from an idea to shipping parts in less than 90 days, in a cast block this would take over a year easily, look at the other ones trying to do it.
Sure these blocks are not for everyone, but if you are looking at or nearing the level of using the C5R blocks, then this one is the right choice, the only choice. With better machining, 7 times stronger block, custom options, larger bores, and for less money than a C5R, would the be any other choice...

I bet its 4-5k just for the block
but think if we get a 4.250 bore and 4.100 stroke, thats pushing 454ci isnt it?
thatd be nice in a street car, 700rwhp NA. Going to be hard to find heads to keep up, oh wait GM ls7 heads theyll do the trick, almost 400 cfm ported.

The block is not machined yet, it is in the eng stage.
Dart is working with the prints and existing stock blocks to revise oil galleys before the real part is made.
This block will have a massive option list to fit anybody's needs.
It will not be needed for a head and cam stroker, but would be bullet proof in those engines.(and it will look cool)
It is not a flying car, it is a block from a reliable racing block manufacturer.
I would guess the basic block would start at 5000+, I have one on order now.
This will help us with our head sealing problems, and let us get over 2000hp reliable.

Nice. Of course there's already a company out there making Billet LS blocks that also makes billet blocks for many of those Pro Mod guys and more. We have several LS blocks out there and running. PM me or pman for details. Here are pics.
