SS hood struts?

SS hood struts? Just receive my new OEM SS hood and I remember reading a thread that you have to change out your z-28 hood struts when buyin the ss hood? went to my gm dealer and they only have 1 part # for the Z's and the SS's..thanks

I'm not sure about it, but it would make sense as I think that the SS hood is lighter than the SS hood. Anyways, I still have my z28 hood struts on there, but if anyone else has insight on this I may reconsider that

Actually the SS hood is quite heavy as it is not Fiberglass but rather heavier SMC, so it would make sense to use the same hood struts.
