I was at the shop tonight and took this video of the car in the dyno room

I am planning on hitting the track this weekend...

We just started breaking her in and some baseline tuning on the dyno... Here are some specs...

-sleaved LS2 block (4.125)
-Eagle 4" crank and rods
-ETP LS7 heads (untouched)
-LS7 intake (cleaned up)
-NW 90MM with custom bracket
-Hydraulic cam
-Morel Lifters
-Edelbrock stepped headers (1 3/4 to 1 7/8), Edelbrock Y, single 3" FLP electric cutout, Flowmaster catback

Other details about the car...
-Built 700R4 with MVB
-12 bolt with spool & 4.10's
-Car weighs ~3150lbs... looking to get it down to just under 3000lbs...
-You can see other details abou the by clicking on the photo below... since then I added Strange brakes all around along with a Madman rack...

We'll see what happens this weekend when I hit the track...

We experimented with several camshafts and picking the right one is a challenge as there is always a tradeoff between low end grunt and top end power... this is simmilar to what is seen in Jason from Katech's post about thier Torquer cam compared to the original cam they had in the Z06...

My setup does not make a good dyno queen, but we estimate crank HP to be in the 650HP range...

Well, I've got the old engine out, but now I'm just waiting for everything! I ordered a new UMI K-member to put her on, and I'm waiting on the engine from Mizfit Motorsports. Once I get them, I should have the car up and running in about a week tops, hopefully I can have one of my buddies give me a hand, will help it go a little faster After that, its off to Iraq again haha, atleast I'll be able to enjoy the engine for a couple weeks.

My engine builder told me "216/220 on a 114 cam"

I don't know the exact specs, but it's on the larger side of hydraulic cams...

What heads will you be using?

I thought that cam sounded pretty tame. I'm suprised you went with such low durations, unless thats duration at .200 haha. I ended up going with a 242/256 duration cam on a 113+2 LSA.
I went ahead and ran the LS7 heads/intake with the Katech PSI spring/retainer set good to .700 lift. I'm also running 11.5:1 CR with custom Diamond pistons. I'm hoping to make over 600hp to the wheels on my 6 speed.

That would be really impressive as it's over 700HP at the crank... one of the challenges when choosing a cam for the LS7 is getting low end grunt that you need in a stick car combined with top end power... keep us posted on the results!

Thats exactly true!! I was sure to spec the cam that left me with a decent DCR of ~8.3:1 and provided the valve events that we were looking for, which should provide for good low end grunt and top end power! Its not quite 700 hp at the crank, more like 680-690 depending on how you do the numbers, but very impressive non-the-less. I will keep everyone posted!

Katech has been experimenting with different cams and they ended up with 640HP at the crank with thier peakier setup... this is simmilar to the numbers the shop I am working with are seeing... thier torquer cam is making 600HP with more grunt down low...

That is true, but I've also got a few more cubes and more compression then a stock LS7 does, so that should be good for a for another 20-30 hp, which is getting closer to the 680-690 I'm looking for. Plus a few other tricks
