Default D1SC Back from the Dyno!

Well, after much anticipation I made it to the dyno today. ATI D1SC with the stock twins, a MMS crank pulley and a 3.85 blower pulley. Tuning was done by Rick@Synergy. After the driveability tuning, it got hooked to the dyno for some WOT pulls. Once the car got into the 4k RPM range I started seeing belt slip , but then we tightened it back up and made the days final run. 490HP/ 521Ft/lbs@5100 . I was seeing 10# at 5100 on all stock internals Im gonna have to go back after I get a larger blower pulley. I'm thinking about going to a 4.10 blower pulley to get around 8# max. Anyone think I should go more? Heres the graph.

for a completely stock motor I'd say your doing quite well.

how does it feel on the street? the tune makes the car really smooth doesn't it.

so this is all flywheel power?

Isnt that a little low for a somewhat full bolt on d1?

That would equate out to 430rwhp and 460rwtq.

Maybe im used to people running only 8 lbs on a stock block.

why does it say fly wheel power at the top of the graph though?

I thought the same thing when I was looking at the graph later on when I got home. But for those to be flywheel numbers are impossible, the dynapack was hooked directly to my rear axel, no way to measure flywheel power.

No, we can't. I'm 6 rib.

I really can't tell ya yet. I had to drive home in traffic. But the car is 100x smoother now.

Dyno's can read Flywheel ratings , just b/c it was measured by the "Rear Axle" doesn't mean the dyno measured the power at the rear tires, lol

Well that's a first for me. I've never seen a dyno, that dynos from the rear wheels and give flywheel hp!

it's not, it's rear wheel.

Rick has never bothered to change the lables on the graphs.

believe me it's rear wheel.

Same here. Why even strap it to a chassis dyno then if you're
looking for flywheel numbers?

You can see the TCF (transmission correction factor) is set to 1.00, so that is displaying horsepower directly as measured at the rear wheels. That would be 1.15-1.20 if it were trying to "simulate" flywheel power.

I like how you tried to be a smart-*** there and ended up looking like the moron. Yes, it was measured at the 'rear axle', you know where the rear tires go, or is that where you installed your flywheel. And yes dynos can measure flywheel ratings, just not chassis dynos. They might be able to correct for flywheel power, but they don't measure there. So before you go running your mouth next time you should probably make sure the info you're regurgitating is accurate. Now go ahead and crawl back in your toolbox with the rest of the tools.

I will simply put Chasis Dyno's Measure at the rear tires, Yes. But I have seen guys caliberate Chasis Dyno's to measure FLYWHEEL numbers as well, thats all I was getting at. I noticed on the top of the page is said Flywheel, and I just thought they caliberated it to measure at the Flywheel instead of adding in the drivetrain loss. Sorry no pun intended Really .
But I will say this, 10lbs of boost on a bolt on LS1 is not going to make 490RWHP at 5100 it will at 6000+. I dunno maybe you have a Freak Car
Now go ahead and crawl back in your toolbox with the rest of the tools.
My tool box isn't big enough, lol

Nice numbers.... how come you went with a 3.85 pulley to begin with?

Why is 490 unbelieveable at 5100 with 10psi?

Exclamation RWHP #'s

I only have a 4.50" Pulley & somehow I am seeing 8 to 11psi!
@6000 to 6200 RPM. I make like 5-6psi @ 5000 RPM.
Just had it dynoed a few weeks ago. 504 RWHP @ 6250 RPM!
All stock internals, Headers, No cats, Ported TB., 60LB injectors,
& Racetronix fuel pump.

Only 473 ft lbs of torque though :-(
Not sure what diff the MMS crank pulley makes.
But I am using the 8 rib setup.
