LLyod, should expect to spend about 125-150$ on one, doesnt matter the transmision. If this is going in the 97, why not a Dennys or some thing custom? Good luck man!

A Dennys light weight aluminum driveshaft is alot more than $150.00 and worth every penny.

Bizzatch,

I was under the impression the front yolk is different A4 to 6 speed.

Just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the tip.

Worse comes to worse, I could always just swap yolks but it would be easier if I did not have to.

I'll try and get that one from the guy in Mckinney if we can meet up today. I replied to his post and waiting for PM or phonecall.

Dennys is not in the budget and I think I'll be fine with an alu. drive shaft on a high-mid 11 second street car with drag radials since it is an A4 and no NOS

thanks guys.

I stuck my 98 M6 aluminum driveshaft in to my 94 A4. Fit perfectly. Yokes and U-joints are the same.

POC,

how much for the Alu DS in SA?

Not really wanting to pay shipping but if the price is right I would be interested.

I will try to get the one from McKinney (30 minute drive) but if that falls through, I'll hit ya back.

82-02 shafts are interchangeable. (M6 / A4, 3rdgen / 4th gen , steel / aluminum /etc ... all 41.5")

The only possible exception being the 2-peice 3.4 steel shaft (but why would you want one?)
It requires an extra bracket.

I've installed so many of these for people it's not even funny.
One hell of a bang for your bolt-on buck IMHO
