Most LS1 shortblocks seem to come without covers so I wanted to pick up spares for when I build up a new engine. I just want to make sure I know what I am looking for. Is it true that the front and rear covers are identical on all the Gen III engines, 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, and 6.0 even though most use iron blocks? For the oil pan, is there any other vehicle that uses the F-Body pan or is it unique?

All the covers are the same until you get to the LS2's. The F-body oil pan is unique to the F-body only. If you need spare covers, I have everything but the oil pan for a LS1 that I'll sell.
