Custom Painted Trans Am Tail Panel FS
For those who are unfamiliar, here is my original FS post:
When I do these panels, I take faded TA and Firebird tail panels, strip the finish, then apply multi-stage dupont lacquers for the new finish. The panel is then wet-sanded and polished. I don't go crazy with wet-sanding, but I make sure all the imperfections are removed from the finish.
My first few panels were painted using black lacquer that matched the factory GM black used on f-bodies. I have since switched to matching the panels to the taillights instead. The panel on my car (last pic) is the old way, the panel for sale is done the way I will do them from now on.
I can do just about any color combination, and many different designs. The entire panel face is clearcoated, so it will never fade or "wear off" like the GM panels do. It can also be polished and waxed just like the paint on your car.
My price will be $80 shipped plus your old tail panel. It's not real easy to get ahold of these panels to start with, so i'm trying the "core exchange" method. I will send you the new panel, then you send me your old one. If you really want to keep your old panel, we'll work something out. Maybe an extra $20 or something. If you consider that replacement GM panels (the ones that fade within two years) go for $110, then this is a great deal.
Questions? PM me or Email at Shadow248@juno.com.
NEW PICS...the first pic is the silver chameleon paint, the second pic is one of the white ones I did for a board member.
The silver panel has a "chameleon" silver metallic paint. In nuetral light, It's plain metallic silver, but when hit with direct sunlight it reflects red, orange, green, blue, and purple.

No lie, I have 16 separate custom panel requests. Please be patient with my responses, I will address them in order.
General note...the farther the departure from the regular licensed logo, the more expensive and time consuming it will be. All my stencils are computer cut, so all the designs have to be done in vector format. Lettering is usually not a problem, cause there is almost always a font that fits, however custom graphic designs are much much tougher.
For the 30th anniversary TA - the simplest solution would be of course to do the standard design in the matching blue, or even a combination of blue and white. Or I could do a white bird/TA with blue and white whisps that originate just under the wings and spread to the outside of the panel. Or how about a white panel with blue bird/TA logo? These are just ideas I thought of off the top of my head. Personally I think the 30th TA's are one of the best looking f-bodies, so i'd love to come up with a great idea for these cars. I'll think about that, and if any of you have any suggestions, please PM me, i'm open to any ideas you may have.
For those of you who just want different lettering, i'm 99% sure that's no problem. For instance, "WS-6" instead of Trans Am, or "Trans Am WS-6" could all work, though the latter may look awkward because it's pretty long. I had thoughts of trying a panel that had "WS6" in large text in red just under the keyhole, then a silver "Trans Am" with a silver bird overlaying the "WS6" text. I would think that would look awesome and i don't foresee it being too hard to do.
Lynx853 - I will PM you about your specific request.
For all custom jobs, I will need a good amount of time, it takes about two weeks for me to get stencils. I have a stock of the standard logo, however anything custom will have to be ordered after I receive payment for the panel, so if you are not a patient person, you may not want to go this route.
For now, i'm going to try to work on an idea for a 30th TA panel.

When you come up with some designs for the 30th, maybe you can post at www.30th-ta.org. I bet you will get a few people buying those

Ok here it is, a good shot at a 30th anniversary panel. It's not very complicated, but that's the key to success when it comes to projects like this. These panels should be no problem for me to make, and I would only charge an extra $15 because of the two color setup (obviously, the plain white one would be $80).
Let me know which combo you think is best.

I have a concept in the works for the regular design that incorporates the WS6 insignia. I'll try to get a graphic up tonight.
