Thumbs up ** SOLD ** FS: 1998 Black TA ... XL Pics and Details within .. **Priced To Go**

Car is SOLD to CJDZ24_Z28

Hey all.. I'm selling my 98 TA... here are the details:

Color - Black
Interior - Charcoal Grey Leather [or whatever that material is that GM used
in GPs and TAs]
Tranny - A4 [ see Tranny details below *]
Accidents: None
Original Owner ? : Nope, bought it used from a Florida Resident.
Rust : No. The Body is exceptionally clean for it's age.
Miles: 133K - Don't let these scare ya.. the motor is very stout ..
Reason for selling: Need something more practical, especially since I'll be
driving to NYC alot! Plus, getting a C6 soon..

Price: $7995 [Includes ALL mods ** except stereo] FIRM on price!

I have Hi-Resolution Digital pictures that I can email upon request.

Mods**

Performance:

Magnaflow Exhaust
SLP Lid w/ almost new K&N Filter
Kooks Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers
SSF TCI 3500 TC ~ 3000 miles on it...
ASP Pulley
LS6 Intake w/ !Air | !EGR
160* T-Stat
LS6 Pump [replaced recently with a new one. Miles on the current one ~
3000] | Comp Lifters | Crane Dual Springs | Titanium Retainers | Chromoly
Pushrods

Suspension:

BMR Sub Frame Connectors & Trans Cooler [Tranny temps never went beyond 170
.. even when it was 100+ degrees out ]
Koni SA Shocks with stock springs
BMR STB

Eye Candy:

1) U.S. Exotics WS.9 R/A Hood - Unpainted [Gel Coated Black] .. This Hand
Laid Fiber Glass and extremely light weight hood was the LAST one Roger [owner
of US Exotics] made, before he switched to Viper Hoods. I had him enlarge the
Functional Heat Extractors for this one.

What's a WS9 Hood ?

It's the WS6 Hood with Firehawk Heat Extractors. From the front it looks
exactly like the WS6, and from top you see those large heat extractors

The hood needs to be painted!

2) Window Tint : Done by SoundWaves [Parsippany, NJ] with LifeTime Warranty.
5% Rear Window/Hatch, and 15% Driver and Passenger Side.

3) Debadged : The side moldings and Trans AM badges were taken off for a
cleaner look.

4) Chrome ZR-1 Wheels
Fronts: 17 x 9.5
Rears : 17 x 11 " with a nice lip!

Tires:
Fronts: 275/40/ZR17 - BFG KDWS
Rears: 315/35/ZR17 - Goodyear GS-D3s [awesome grip and very aggressive
thread pattern]

Tires have more than 90% thread left on them!! The front passenger side rim
has a small curb rash and the center cap fell off while driving. I am sure I
can find a replacement!

Stereo [NOT included in the stated price]

HU:Alpine IVA-D310 [DVD w/ Optional Nav] with 7" Motorized TouchScreen
Speakers: JL Audio XR650-Csi
Amps: JL Audio 300/4 and 500/1 Class D Mono [still have the original
packaging for the 500/1]
Subs: Two 10W3 V2 in a custom T-Top box. [ Custom slot for placing the
T-Tops]
Misc: Sirius Radio Adapter Installed ; and lots of sound deadening!!

[U]Buyer gets 3 months of FREE unlimited Sirius Radio if Stereo Package
Purchased with car.[/
U]

The stereo has NEVER been beaten on and is in like BRAND NEW condition, both
cosmetically and functionally.. guaranteed!! Everything was bought and
installed brand new [not refurbished, no floor models, no open boxes etc etc]
from SoundWaves.

The stereo is absolutely KICK A$$ and has barely been used because I'm
always on the phone and almost never got time to enjoy this system...

All this for an additional $2000 only!! and seriously that's like giving it
away!! I spent WAY more than that on this set up.. The DVD player itself was
$1499!

Things to note about this car:

1) Title is CLEAN and CLEAR.
2) The OEM fog lamps were replaced with BlazerTech 3200 and custom brackets .. The brackets may need to be tightened a bit.
3) The driver's side seat has a small rip. This was present when I bought
the car and has not gotten any worse since..
5) The Front Passenger side wheel has some curb rash, and the center cap fell off.
4) The car needs a tune. I had a cam [Equalizer V.3] installed for approx 8K miles
[took it to the track twice] and when it was taken out [ which is also when the
LS6 Oil Pump was replaced with a brand new Ported LS6 pump] the stock tune
was loaded into the PCM. The car runs fine, but it needs a tune for optimum
performance.

Since the stock tune was loaded, the car has not been pushed over 3k rpms
even once! There are NO service [SES] codes or lights on..

6) I have ALWAYS used FULL Synthetic Oil, and I recommend the buyer does the
same. Oil changed every 3 k miles.
7) Always use 91 or higher octane on this car!! I've never filled her with
lower than 93. The previous owner also always used Premium.
8) Front rotors and all 4 pads changed recently. The calipers are painted
Red.

Will add more if I forgot something.. I'm pretty sure that's about it
though....

Please post here or call me at 973-945-4034 if you, or someone you know,
maybe interested!

Thanks!

Rahul

Considering the fact that the ENGINE has 90% of the life gone, I'll offer you $8250 flat including everything on the car....stereo and all.

If you don't like that offer then good luck with the sale here is a bump.

I don't see how the engine has 90% life gone...These motors are very reliable, and I have seen a many of them with 150+ thousand miles running perfectly fine...this is a good deal...

Yeah, cause we know all ls1's blow up at high miles.

They do, that's weird.....in my experience all that happens is the crank bearings fail and maybe a rod or two weakens....the retainers need replacing and that rear main seal starts to leak....WOW I didn't know they blow UP with high miles.

Moron.

Let's see 130000/150000= 86.XXX% that's pretty close to 90%. Don't argue with someone who's been there before, you'll lose.

The engine has no rebuild, and is pushing it on it's better days.

Show me an LS1 engine with NO REBUILD that runs like new with 150,000 miles....or that you're willing to give more than $8K for.

I'm sorry, what does a Dyno have to do with anything...maybe the air was thin that day....that doesn't take the fact away from us that this is a high mileage vehicle and that I am taking this into consideration with my offer.

That's all my point is, this car is going to need some work soon even though it looks nice in pictures....that's all I'm trying to say.

too bad with the sound system the t-top storage is taken up, so if the t-tops are removed there is nowhere to put em, might wanna rethink that audio system's setup...not trying to be negative, trying to help ya sell it...sweet lookin car, if it was in chicago, and manual i would be on it so fast...good luck.

There is a slot to put the t-tops if you read his post and also look at the pictures.

You must be an expert.

I personally know of a 99 Z28 that has 204,000 miles on the stock engine, that runs great, and still burns no oil.

Cool

Thanks for the kind words everyone

I REALLY hate parting with this ride.. it's been a pleasure owning and driving this beast!! However, sometimes you've just gotta do what you gotta do..

I also forgot to add that the car has a BMR [powder coated Red] Adjustable Pan-Hard Bar and the BFH mod was done to accomodate the 315s...

I will soon post a better pic of the car's stance from the rear!

Correction: it's the Spohn Adjustable Panhard bar, not BMR..
