Northside vs Southside meet - Apr 21 (Saturday)
Its time to see what Houston has to offer when it comes to territory.
Sure there has been alot of underground talk as to who has the fastest cars/trucks in Houston.
- We all know that Houston is top dawg when it comes to being home to some of the baddest cars in the US (PERIOD).
Question is ( ? )
... Which side is faster?
What do I mean?
Simple, Houston has always been divided into 2 sections when it has come down to the "street scene".
Northside and the Southside
We seem to stick to our own when it comes to street events or nightly "cruises" per-say. And very rarely do we run into each other on the street.
Here is the deal plain an simple:
HPD (HoustonPerformanceDriving.com) is setting up a legal event to bring out some of the baddest street cars Houston has to offer.
There are going to be (two) 2 groups
Northside people: Anyone who lives north of I-10
Southside people: Anyone who lives south on I-10
What is in it for you?
Come out and represent your group. "Walk the Walk" and back up that your "side" runs the streets of Houston.
Awards?
- Sure, we are offering Trophies for each group.
And one (1) Trophy or the overall winner.
If there is enough (sponsors) to support this event there might even be cash money winnings at the end of the day.
Whats running?
- CHANGE OF RULES -
After giving it some thought and a few people complaining about their cars being "street" cars or what not. This is how we are going to set it up.
Top 10 Northside and Southside times will be added up to reveal the over all winner of the NvsS event.
What does this mean?
- Example -
Northside:
1st car: xxxx
2nd car: xxxx
3rd car: xxxx
4th car: xxxx
5th car: xxxx
6th car: xxxxx
7th car: xxxxx
8th car: xxxxx
9th car: xxxxx
10th car: xxxxx
TOTAL: XXXX
Southside:
1st car: xxxx
12nd car: xxxx
3rd car: xxxx
4th car: xxxx
5th car: xxxx
6th car: xxxxx
7th car: xxxxx
8th car: xxxxx
9th car: xxxxx
10th car: xxxxx
TOTAL: XXXX
Who ever has the lowest ET after adding up the top 10 fastest cars will be crown the top side of Htown.
When?
APRIL 21ST (Rain out date: 22nd or the 28th)
Where?
LSR (lonestar Motorsports Park)
Why LSR? - Simple, This track has proven itself and the rules are not as strict as HRP.
- I have also been talking with John about setting up this event and he ha gives his support 100%.
(He guarantees the track WILL be prepped and ready for us when the time comes)
Prices will be normal price: $25 to race $10 to watch.
Who is ready to race?
For sponsorship information on the Northside vs Southside Event please contact me via PM or e-mail (goliphant@houstonperformancedriving.com)
I will also be working on getting shirts made up for each side to wear if they are interested in purchasing in buying one.
(working on shirts now)
TROHPIES CATAGORIES:
1st place northside
2nd place northside
3rd place northside
1st place southside
2nd place southside
3rd place southside
Best in show
Slowest car of the day

sweet..my type of action..
but how are you going to determine who race who??
maybe the top 10 cars (ET wise from time trials) from each side race each other heads up? randomly match them against each other and see who has the most win?? ofcousre the side with the most quickest cars will win!!

Prior to final date there will be grudge matches setup.
IE: ME vs DJ , You vs Jeff , etc..
All in all there will only be on car/truck that will beat everyone. And it will either be from the North or the South

If I remember correctly we did this NS vs SS thing a few years back on the street 3 times a week, and I don't remember ever going to Denny's on myself back then.. Doubt much has changed now. :stirs the pot:

Since everyone dosent have big budget FI setups would it be possible to divide the groups up even more. Like 11.5 and faster and 11.5 and slower? It would give more people a chance to come out and participate in an event like this and not just leave everyone spectating.

It will be pretty obvious if the car is a "street" car or not.
I have thought about having it where you have to drive out there, but that wouldn't be fair to the guys coming from baytown to drive to sealy.
I will do more research to pinpoint what I mean in the following weeks

Donaimian good question.
As hard it it would be to limit each class per; liter , 1/4time, etc.
It would be easier to setup grudge matches to someone close in your class.
- We are also going to set up a point sheet. Each side who wins a race gets a notch.
- At the end of the day we will see how many notches each side has.
There is a possibility if you win your races you might end up running a 1200hp viper.
But Its all for fun so the point is to have a good time and mengle with those you dont get to hang out with that often.
Try to do your best to pull the weight of your side.
