Default The "Grocery Getter" entered the single digit club!!!

Well we finally got some dry weather on a day when the track was open. It was getting crowded quick and was afraid the track prep was going to go south pretty quick, but we got a few passes in. After a few tuning passes and operational errors we got the car dialed in. It was leaving straight and the mph was up good with an AFR of 12.8-12.9 and only 26* of timing it was ready.

Once we arrived we just swapped to the slicks and dropped the front shocks a few clicks and we were race ready and doing it through a set of Borla XR1s running Grocery store 93 octane unleaded pump gas.

I strapped the little lady in the pilot seat and the rest is history

She rolled in a little deep so it cut the 60ft down to weak 1.324, but still managed a 9.96@133.55mph. It's got 9.8s in it since we've pulled 1.29 60fts in worse air conditions.

We were pumped to say the least. Not bad for an all motor, pump gas daily driver huh?

We haven't been driving it on the street as much because I've been leaving the race seat in and the passengers seat out, but since we aren't 9's legal, I'll put them back in and she can enjoy it more. We just wanted to prove it could be done without a ton of compression and race fuel. I'll be trying a few max effort passes with a more aggressive tune and some of the higher end oxygenated fuels that might show us what the car has in it.

The car has an HKE iron block 408 with heavily tweaked "Greg Good" 5.3 heads. Greg recenty went back and massaged them for us during the off season and added a bit more power to the beast. HPE pulled the heads the same day I dropped the car off and got it back on the road the day after they got the heads back. How's that for customer service?

Here's a video for ya!

She slid right through the tech. They might yell at me, but they love her to death out there.lol. I'm really glad we stuck to our drivability goals too.

Yeah patrick it doesn't seem like that long ago we were struggling to get into the 10s.lol.

I'll never give up my 4L60E. It's da sh*t!!!
