Exclamation I need a LS1 block - cracked OK

I need a LS1 block. It can be slightly cracked...I only want it for mock up purposes in my 1988 Mustang Coupe. Let me know what you have!

Thanks,

Chris

What kind of condition is it in? Because if it is not rebuildable in the future then $100 is a little steep for me.

Thanks,

Chris

What do you consider "slightly cracked" ? I have a block that had/has a couple head bolt hole cracks, and we gave welding it up a shot but the threads are too far gone in one hole. It would need to be drilled and rethreaded in that hole to hold. There may be other problems; e.g. I wouldn't guarantee anything if you bought it. BUT I'd sell it for basically what scrap would give me -- 50 bucks.

I will give you $50 for it. How about I come pick it up this weekend? I'll send you a PM right now.

Sorry to hijack,

I have a similar crack on my brand new iron lt1 block. It's leaking coolant from a small one inch horizontal crack on the #2 cylinder. Has anyone ever had their cracked block welded? How did it turn out? Was it welded inside the engine bay or did you have to remove the whole motor?

Thanks

Thanks for the offer but I'm not in need of one. The one that I have is a brand new 383 LT1 that hasn't even been run yet but somehow it has a crack in it and now my mission is to get it fixed ASAP.

Can anyone help me with those questions?

Default Anyone still have a mock up Ls1 or Ls6

Im planing on doing an Ls1 / Ls6 in a 72 datsun 510 and need a block to fabricate the firewall and mounts. Im not sure if anyone that posted on here previously still has a one of the mentioned blocks but Im interested. Im looking preferably for aluminum or even one of those poly foam mock up motors. I see this thread is on the texas members section but thought I would start here. Any help with this is appreciated Thanks!
