To Berger or not to Berger?
I bought a rear panel from a member on this site and went to a local body shop to get a paint quote today. When i told the dude what i wanted done, he just about laughed in my face. He asked, "now why in the world would you want to do a thing like that..?" I wanted to ask him why in the hell is he working at a body shop and does he treat every customer like this.? but, i held my tongue and his comments have caused me to briefly rethink my appearance mod. What do you guys think? Should i continue with the mod or is it a dumb waste of my time and money? Most of you guys understand where the idea of the mod has come from and alot of you have pretty decent taste. Shoot me your opinions...

I did it and I get mixed reviews on my red Z but I love it and so do a lot of other people. I need to put some stainless inlays in there and an emblem of some sort so it doesnt look unfinished

In my opinion it makes you look like you dont have the money to paint your car. It looks tacky if you dont black out the taillights to match it. Kinda makes me think of the ricers driving around with unpainted carbon fiber hoods that totally dont match the rest of their car. I'm not bashing though, I admit I have a Wings West commando wing on my TA. I love the way it looks on my car but all my Camaro driving friends tell me its rice...

If you like the looks of it, I say go for it. Don't let some guy at the paint shop change your mind. I personally think it looks good on almost any color car, although I wouldn't do the mod on a black car

Do you want the mod on your car? If so do it I did mine back in 2002 and it looks just as it did back then.
I think it looks great on pewter.
Here are a few pics of mine I had mine painted at my local bodyshop for $50
