Default Berger Panel...Poll: Flat, Semi, Gloss

Im gettin my car painted and planning on doing a berger panel...I see where most do flat paint, but I was wondering if some of you are doing gloss and clear coated panels...Do they still look as good?

Check out the Poll and shoot me a little input.

TIA

I personally think semi gloss looks best. Flat black looks like its primered and gloss kind of looks like you just pulled one out of another car and put it on. The semi gloss makes it look like it was meant to look that way. That's just my .02.

My CETA bumper mod was done with semi gloss engine enamel...

krylon makes a semi gloss latex paint that works awsome. Its the only rattle can paint that has not faded!

I had gloss on my car and hated. Just like someone said above... it looks like I got rear ended and picked another one up from the junk yard.

I think Im going to have to agree with the semi-gloss crowd. I was about to paint it gloss, but the semi may be the route I take!

I think it depends on what your grille looks like.....I am wanting to do gloss on mine due to having a glossy black SLP Grille with the silver bowtie.....

I think it depends on a couple of things. First off what color your car is. If your car is black or navy blue metallic or another dark color than I think that flat looks better because is gives more contrast between the regular body color and berger panel. if your car is a lighter color like red, som and obviously white than I think that semi-gloss looks best.
P. S. - For the trans am bumper 'a la ceta I recomend (if your doing it yourself) that you go down to the auto parts store and pick up a can of dupli-color bumper coating. It's good mid-way between flat and semi-gloss and really looks similar to the factory ceta finish. The paint is also formulated for a flexible finish which is good because the trans am rear bumper isn't exactly the sturdiest thing in the world and tends to move a bit.

Just my opinion. I used the bumper paint I mentioned above on my T/A and I'm really happy with the way it looks. (my car is navy blue metallic)
