Default Stock heads, 224/228 Cam, 90/90, Full TD Exhaust, SS3600 results..

Finally got a chance to dyno the car this weekend at The Car Craft Summer Nationals.

I didn't go into it thinking I'd get to do it but turns out the DynoMax dyno challenge lets you dyno for FREE if you have DynoMax exhaust.
Score!

I got 4 free pulls this weekend and some tips from the guy running it. (who was very cool BTW, Thx Andy)
I guess luck was on my side, pretty freakin sweet if you ask me.

Anyway, Pulls are for mods in signature.
Temp was hovering @ 86* outside, and it was a little muggy.
Tune was prob a bit iffy.
I wasn't prepared and haven't done any WOT tuning yet so that had an impact.
I was basically running off the stock 2000 spark table (I think I logged @ 27* for the runs).
My AFR was not where I wanted it either, since I haven't had a chance to dial it in.
I was sitting @ 11.5~11.7 steady for both so I have some work to do there, and I think I might be able to squeeze 390 out of it with a little tweaking.

Long story short, I was totally stoked. I'm happy with the numbers for the work so far, and I saved almost $200 in free dyno time.

Anyway....

I have absolutely no idea. HA!
Seriously, I don't.
They really didn't explain a whole lot, they just handed me the sheet.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

its simple math...

rpm x 1000

3.2 x 1000 = 3200
5.2 x 1000 = 5200

you just move the decimal place over based off of how many 0s you have...

Right, but what does it mean in terms of the dynograph? the run begins at 3200? or ends at 5200?

that # in the corner is the theoretical final drive ratio #- so if you ran in 3 gear or had bigger tires, etc the dyno reads the same (takes RPM vs wheel speed @ beginning of the pull) that means the dyno reads the same, not necessarily the car as the load values may differ from 2nd to 3rd gear, etc.

exactly as stated above...

its a shows you where your power curve is throughout the rpms..

yes it shows where the run starts and ends, so you know where your car is making power and for how long...

a car that makes power up to 5500 needs a different set up then a car that makes power up to 7000

Not to be a downer, but a few of those ponies are from a graph spike at the end. None the less good numbers based on a tune with some need of work and a rich a/f ratio. I don't think the tune will yield the 400 rwhp you want, but close.

Yeah, I know I prob won't hit 4 bills.
I likely won't dyno again until I throw some more go fast parts on it anyway.
Just maybe log and try and get the AFR right on the street.
I'd be happy with 390, I think I'll tweak it and just tell everybody I hit 390 without the sheet to prove it.

I was thinking if you set timing advance at 28 degrees and lean out your a/f fuel ratio to 12.9 or 13.0 to 1 you could see 395 rwhp. Check your fuel injector duty cycle. If you are at 90 % you may want to upgrade. low 80's is safe. Don't want to over tax your fuel injectors. Hate to see you run out of fuel.

Thats pretty impressive if you ask me, what are the final specs on the cam? Pretty rich too, I bet with a tune you'll be mid to low 390's.

Comp XER From Speed Inc 224/228 .581/.588 112 + 0

Yeah, I think with similar mods there are people out there passing the 400 mark.

I'm happy with it. It was my first dyno ever, so when people asked before what kind of power I thought I'd make with all the stuff I've done, I'd always say I would HOPE for 370~380, so this is good enough for me.

Those are good numbers! With a little more work on the tune you can squeeze some more power out too.

We tried, via the tune and the live controls in HPT.
Still unsure weather or not it was though.
HPT kept reading - 3 -, which I think means it was trying to, but still not.
First run on Saturday, Andy said he didn't think it was locking.
I pulled one 375, and one 382 that time.
So I changed some stuff up, re-flashed and tried again on Sunday hoping for 400.
3rd pull (1st pull on Sunday) he said it wasn't again even when I tried to command it.
4th pull he said it felt like it was, but the numbers were still the same.

Bottom line, I'm not sure if it was or not LOL, I have conflicting reports.
Looks like I have allot more work to do.

Good numbers! Makes me happier about my cam selection, I got the exact same one except it is 114LSA. I chose that because I am installing a D-1SC procharger with it

I don't see a spike in the red graph?

Either way it was nice to meet you this weekend John. Looks like you are getting the hang of that HP Tuners and some more tweeks should get you there. I'm glad Andy could help you out, I told you he would.

Oh yeah, you too man.
Now I see your car I have a face to place with it.
It was an awesome weekend, those (you) guys running the dyno were cool as hell.
I'm def glad I decided to bring my car out this year for my first real show, it totally paid off.
I'm kind of interested in how all those cars on dyno-row were "corn fed".
Andy told me that I was like "whaaa!?!?"
I might seriously look into E85 for my car, depending on how hard the swap is.

But yeah, I wanted to see your car on the dyno too, I saw it from a distance but was too far away to get over there.
Your Procharger setup is nice as hell, good looking and obviously packs a punch.

All the cars that were lined up there were not only corn fed but they are flex fuel too. yeah my car kind of surprised me this weekend, it pulled 570rwhp and 490rwtq, and got me second place for the day.
