Default You heard it here first

The new camaro will basically be the G8.

6.0L 362 HP engine will be just ONE of the THREE v8 options.

There will be ONE high performance v6 option. Not exactly sure of the size of the engine yet, however its a pretty good guess that it is the same 3.6L 261 HP engine in the G8.

I REPEAT, THE NEW CAMARO IS BASICALLY THE G8!

Believe me or not...don't really care. When it comes out, I will be posting this thread as proof

Have a nice day.

Well, since both the G8 and Camaro are on the Zeta chassis, it certainly is possible.

But it's all speculation until the official word comes down from GM.

Three V8 options plus a hi-po V6 option makes for five engines including the base V6. Doubt it. More likely: one V6, a V8, plus a super hi-po V8 (later introduction, limited production, expensive halo car).

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Even if it is true why freak out about it and tell everyone? It doesn't matter. Nothing is set in stone.

I find the whole guessing game hilarious
unless word comes from official, verifiable gm sources everyone can guess all they want
there are tons of things that "could" be
BFD, just get me a blue Z28 M6 on the lot so I can give some jackhole beancounter and the craptastic majority stockholders my $

I really doubt they would put a V8 that's less powerful then the LS2 was. I expect a LS3 in there. Then maybe a SC LS3 down the road just like the next super vette.

Seriously, besides a 6.0 liter with only 361 HP. The 5.7 liter LS1 (Vette) had 350 HP, .3 liters more of displacement and only 11 more HP?

I actually think 5 engine choices would be great! This is exactly what GM needs for the new Camaro, a variety of choices to appeal to a wide range of buyers. I hope this rumor is true.

Sounds like some bad information. But since were making things up, I heard that the Camaro is going to have a paddleboat option. I've also heard that there making a limited edition Flinstone style engine, the weight reduction alone is worth it.

I think there will be 2 V6s and 2 V8s then later on a special edition with LS9. I don't see the LS9 in the first year though.

If by god knows when you mean 1992. It's a smart move to go back to the way they used to make them if this info is correct....

Look, GM is planning on selling 100k plus of these babies. To get that kind of number, they will need to appeal to as many people as possible.
