Hurst T handle install - A4
So this should answer a few questions for those that are curious.
MBA shift adapter
http://www.ws6project.com
Any shift handle that has a thread count/pattern of M16 x 1.5 - Thanks to Snuffles for that info.
I went with the Hurst shift handle.

With the car off, move the shifter to 1st gear so you have access to the clip that holds the shift handle in. You will need to use a needle nose pliers or a pic of some kind to get the clip out.
Once you have the clip out pull the handle straight up to remove it.
Get your parts you ordered and assemble them.
I had to clean out the threading on the handle so it would screw into the adapter.
Now just slide it onto the shaft until it bottoms out. The set screws slide up and down in the cut out groove.
Snug up the set screws and then give them another quarter turn.
Thats it, you just installed the handle!
I will append to this once I get my hands on a shift boot.
Here are some more pictures for reference and a video to show how it functions.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get ride of the play in the adapter.
Also have to get a shift boot and finish the write up.
Your welcome.

Never got any shims with the mba adapter.
I thought the shims sat on top of the adapter to align the logo on the MBA ball.
I'm getting play with the set screws and the slot they go in.

It's the white plastic piece twisting that causes the movement.
I've tried to get rid of it ... to no avail.
Nice pics/process Freak.
Looks good.
If you need help with the shift boot PM me, I'll throw some pics your way.

The handle is centered. I just drove the car in to work and my concern with the movement was that it would rattle. The only time I heard anything from it was large cracks or pot holes in the road.
I've heard of guys using boots from a grand prix and the m6 boot.
I'm trying to find one for cheap or free. I'll append to this with the instructions on the boot.

FYI, your links in the first post still have your sign-in data recorded to the products.
If I add them to the 'cart' & ask for a total it gives me a ship to ' ****** ****, *****, **.'
May I suggest that you edit/delete the links?!?
Good write-up.

The idea came from a person on this board who did it before me, forget his name though.
