***10/7/07 Houston to Brazos Bend LS1Tech cruise/photoshoot CANCELLED** figured now is the time and after some ideas and suggestion's ive decided to post the official ls1tech brazos bend cruise/photoshoot thread bring your cameras & tripods .
we will meet up at 12:30 pm at the big target parking lot off hwy 288 & fm 518. from there we will head out at 1:30 down hwy 288 south to fm 1462 west to tx762 to the entrance. there's a small entrance fee and they do take debit/credit for those that dont carry cash. the park open's at 7am and close's at 10pm . for those who decide to just meet up out there. heres a map incase a few need to print it out or get lost.

there are a few rule's i ask people to follow. no hauling ***/racing to the park. and no racing near or around the meet spots. try to stay together as a group. last thing we need is to be stopped by a state trooper for driving like moron's. once we arrive at the park we will drive till there's a spot big enough to accomadate the whole group. from there we will hang out and relax .. anyone who wants to cook it up is more than welcome to do so. just fix me a plate
. now for the seperate northside members meeting up just figure up a location and post it. ill add it to the thread . look forward to seeing everyone there 
feel free to add suggestions and ideas and post this on some other boards 
ill start the list. just add to it and i'll edit this as needed..

I was in on this from a while back, and I still am.
Being a FAR northsider, I guess I'll speak for the northsiders, let's meet up at the Hooters @ I-45 and FM 1960. I guess around 11:15? Someone that knows the area better could probably call a better time than me.
ex-SS-ve... as far as getting everyone's attention... I love megaphones, just don't have one.
Who's bringing a grill? I'll def bring some meat. I always love slapping my meat on someone's grill.

Well, hopefully, we can get this stickied.
A big turnout would be awesome. I don't know about being that accouncer, I'm not that coordinated really.
I'm definitely gonna try to convoy every decent fbody in Palestine down there with me. This town sucks, we all need an excuse to leave it.

It's going to be an absolute bitch trying to get out of that parking lot and out onto the highway. I'd suggest leaving out the far east side of the parking lot...take a right on 94...go down to Southfork Dr. (CR 59) and hang a right...then hang a left on 288.
If you try to get out onto 518 from the Target parking lot, everyone will get separated. Traffic at 518 and 288 is always packed and stopped.

Nice! Good to see someone putting something together still. Ever since I sold the ride, kinda left the picture.
ROSS is def right. Parking in front of that place on a sunday would be difficult too.
Also, Joe, I dunno if you did, but you might wanna call the park if you end up getting a good crowd, they would appreciate knowing a triple digit amount of cars are showing up....lol Hell they might give you a discount.

I wish I could make that date, but I have to work. I"ll offer some advice from other cruises. Buy/bring cheap walkie talkies. It helps when you can directly communicate with the drivers around you. Tune them to a channel that all walkie talkie have (8 for example). They don't have to be capable of reaching the Mars Rover, just a couple hundred yards.
Also, since you'll be meeting at a state park, remember to be respectful. There is a couple of extra law enforcement groups involved.

I also agree with Ross on the idea of the exit. We could either do that or we could meet on the opposite side of 288 (South Side) in the Academy parking lot where we wouldnt have as much problem getting on at the same time.
