How much HP from a lid?
Would have saved me a lot a spit a few months ago...
Wait, the spit was to get it IN to the aftermarket lid. Either way, the best is to fork over the extra few bucks if the vendor offers it installed already.

I just installed a TSP lid in my car last night and I can't believe it but I noticed a bolt on, I mean really noticed it. I'd say it was comparable to headers on my LT1!
The Sensor wasn't that bad I used a tiny screwdrive and a little Wd40 and she popped right out. They are cheap though.
Lid really is as good as everyone says! Now I have to start saving for my FLP headers!!

Generally speaking you're going to see about 10rwhp which is pretty incredible if you think about it. GM did a horrible job of designing the intake portion of the fbody. I think it was done intentionally so that their beloved 'vettes wouldn't be out done.
They did it to make it quiet.
that baffle is called an air silincer, you should see the ones on the trucks. It silences the vacum draw from the throttle body. Believe me it's much quiter with the silencer on. Especialy with a ported tb.

what kills me is dont cars with SLP equipped lids have no sound baffle?i think the intake design on ls1 fbodies is far better then previous SBC.

GM claimed the MAF screen was "left" over from design similar to the LT1 where the air had to move around corner just before the MAF.
Just another restriction

I saw a tenth of second improvement over the stock lid with my direct-flo lid. Adding a set of stock MAF ends with the splitter and screen removed was another tenth, but I had to add the MAFT to control the damn pinging!
