How long have the springs been on the heads and should they be replaced?
Thanks!
Robert
At the crank. 400 at the wheels. The springs have been on there since the heads been built which is less than 1000 miles. I don't see a reason why you would need to change them.
I built the motor to run between 4000 to 7000 for 40min at the time. I got a cam and had it tuned so torque would drop at the high end to keep my HP levels within limit. We have a max HP and TQ in my race group. The heads could make a lot more power up top, I just choked them to be within the limits. Anyway, I had WestCoast put really good spring on the heads so they can stand up to 7000 rpm for extended period of time. I had these on the car for 6 months, than changed class for 2008. I only need 320hp now, so I am back to a stock motor.
