Default Exhaust Shopping! Need some ideas.

Whats up everyone! So i'm on my third f-body,but my first ls1. I had an slp loudmouth 1 on my '96 formula and i liked it a lot. But i'm looking to find something new and worth the money. Living on my own leaves me with a tight budget so i'm looking for something within a reasonable price range. Maybe somewhere between 350-550. I was hoping some of you guys could give me your thoughts on the exhausts you have heard and owned. Thanks for the input!

Magnaflow's probably your best bet in that price range.

Hey thanks for the quick responses! The only problem that im running into is how quiet it starts out to be. It will be a little while before i'm able to afford headers and other mods to enhance it. I have a stupid question but what does "ory" mean again? i'm seeing that a lot! And have any of you heard a loudmouth 2 on any f-bodys before?

That rumbler is probably an even better idea actually. Then when you do headers and if you think it's too loud then, you can replace that bullet in the I pipe with a Magnaflow/Borla muffler That's if it's even too loud for you then. You might like it.

The website you showed me is great. I've never heard of it. I just saw this Texas Speed Rumbler X True Duals for $440. Is that the full exhaust or just the x pipe? I cant tell. Thanks for your help!

Ha ha ha don't get me wrong! I love loud! But where i live, they really REALLY crack down on it!! I can't tell you how many times i have been stopped for the loud exhaust, but i won't let that stop me if the price is good and the sound is awsome!!

I have had great expeiriences with both speedinc.com and ws6store.com but as long as they are sponsors of this site they are usually good they are listed on the right hand of your screen

Honestly I would say to get a custom setup. Find a local bender that can do what you need and it will prob be pretty close to your setup. I went w/ TSPs 3in xpipe that I had run out the back under the axel, and while it sounded good, there were quite a few probs w/ it. Leaks here and there, not to great ground clearance, and a rasp I have yet to kill. Im switching to a 2.5in x run over the axel and a local bender can do it for around 350-400. Go w/ a custom and by doing it right the first time youll never regret it

I've had experience with Borla, Flowmaster Cat-Back, Loudmouth-1 and a Loudmouth-2, Have had two sets of 3" True Duals, one with One-Chambers and one with Sweet Thunders. I am presently going back to an ORY and Loudmouth-2...Mostly for clearance, and the ability to easily add DS Loop, Crossmember Mounted T/A etc.

True Duals sound awsome, but just really think it over is what Im saying about those suckers. Keep in mind the clearance, the exhaust fumes, hard to fight rattles, it being in the way of most under-car mods.

All the cat-backs have their pros and cons, just listen to as many as you can and try to be honest about what you want.

Why not do a cutout??? then save money for ory and headers?? you can probably find some used headers and ory for around that price range..a cut out is what like $60...that sounds like your best bet IMO

when i got my SS it had stock exhaust except gmmg catback, expensive yes but the sound without headers and ory was amzing. very deep. now, with ory and longtubes even better. but the low deepness went away. you will find that with any catback though, two entirely different sounds once the ory and longtubes are in front of it.
