http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...e-version.html

saw you posted. most of the upgrades and revisions for the x50 were purely for new manufacturers making the pieces, and not for software or product upgrades. if you did send it into escort they charge a minimum of $80 and they just test it for accuracy and send you new suction cups and power wires. x50 is not really "upgradeable like the v1 is persay

also you may try looking into a whistler pro 78 rev c they sell brand new for $130 shipped and rival the newer x50's performance and have a blue led screen

If you have to have one now, get the Escort 9500 or the V1.

thats a helluva deal i would hop on that, just enter in the serial number on valentines website to make sure no one has reported it stolen before you send it in for any upgrades in the future

the xtr695 has lsid laser ferquency detection, a neat function. detection range will be similar to the 690 and pro 78 it will just have additional features. i love my whistler its very quiet in the city even on highway mode and has great detection range for when im doing 10-15 over the posted limit

Yeah, I was wondering what the range of the Pro-78 Rev. C is compared to the newer X50s. I'm hoping the V1 deal is legitimate. I know for $200 that is a steal. If I want to stick to a budget, I might just wait for the XTR-695 to come out if I can't find a killer deal on a newer X50.

Cool.

I found a few-month old X50 for $230 shipped on craigslist. The guy had me check his ebay rating and all that stuff (100%), so it's legitimate. You think I should jump on it?

Wait. Are they brand new? The latest version? 6.3? I know some places sell the older version 5s.

The one I'm looking at is like 5 months old. The guy is pretty firm on $230 shipped, though. Which way should I go?

it says product is new and comes with the amazon a-z guarantee where if its a different version than described you will be covered by amazon for a full refund.

if its a blue version of the x50 on craigslist its a good deal, if its the red version its an retail for used x50. ok so amazon is $249 plus $7 for shipping. im always leary about buying from a unknown user, buying off of forums with feedbacks like amazon or this site for example help put my mind at ease. if your comfortable with a craigslist purchase then go for it

x50

the seller page (best seller 21 is the first one on the list)

the firmware version does not have anything to do with the radars performance. just done by escort incase they need to repair a unit so they know what parts to use
