My cam in my car was 270/284 660/669 lift on a 114 lobe, it was a solid roller SBC 377.

I would think a cam around 240's intake/250's exhaust duration with 600-630 lift on a 112-115 lobe separation will work good on a n20 car.

You could go more duration but I am not sure how high you want to spin the motor.

How about using a hydraulic roller cam. Any Suggestions or Recommendations.
Thanks,

Thanks,
"These specs are what I was thinking of for a hydraulic roller".

I would think a cam around 240's intake/250's exhaust duration with 600-630 lift on a 112-115 lobe separation will work good on a n20 car.

On a 408 I would guess something in that range you would rev to high 6k low 7k.

Since it is a 408 you could look for one with say 247 intake and would add about 8 on the exhaust side, so it would be something like 247/255 with say .610 intake lift and .630 exhaust lift on a 114. That would be more towards a nitrous grind, less lobe separation say 110 will work better on all motor, but wider lobes, 114 respond better to nitrous.

eastside did the grind for the cam in my mtoor, 10.5 n/1, 977 on a 100 shot, 9.61 on 150 shot spinning... I think it works good.

I"m running a 13.5 to 1 compression 402, so I'm sure the same cam would work fine.

What are the specs?

The latest car we did went 9.70 on the motor, 9.30 with a 100 shot. It's ground on a 112 and we buzz that lil puppy to 8,000

408 hydraulic cam specs are 244/248 .612/.615 112 LSA +4 ground in, loves N20.

This is a good cam spec, for more power on motor you'd run a lower lobe separation or for more power on nitrous used use a 114 lobe or so.

How much horsepower are you gaining with the 300 jet?

what does that stupid big cam idle like too, that thign must be cranky as hell. 'd love to see what that makes for power and where, as well as what intake you are running.

To be honest,if the 845 rwhp/770 rwtq #'s are with a 300 shot, that big as cam isn't doing you any good at all. Hell my 402 with 1/2 that cam thru a th400 with a 5000 n/a converter makes 480rwhp, which I guarintee would be a good 550 thru a stick. I guarintee if I hit mine with 300 hp of nitrous it's gonna make alot more then 845 too.. hell with a 150 shot it pushed a 3500 lb car to 9.63@139, do the calculator that's in the 750 rwhp range, on 1/2 the nitrous.

It can't idle that bad it's on a 112 lobe.

I had a cam around those specs, 256/263 .639/.639 solid roller on a 106 lobe it was pretty choppy sounding, in a 13-1 377 sbc.

I'm just saying, if you're running that much cam and that's all it does, why bother with a cam that big, all you're doing is hammering valvetrain senseless, if the bigger is better theory really was true you should be making about 50 hp more then you are, that cam to me is obviously too big, or there is a big restriction somewhere that it's trying to overcome, and can not.
