Well just aquired a 1990 Camaro. V6 with planes of a transplant to a built 350.

Goals:

350 - 400hp all motor, Eletric Fans, Water pump.

Not to sure about the specifics of how I am going to built this thing, just know I cannot go wrong with a 350 block and a Summitt and Jegs catalogs. I want to build a budget beater.
I already have eyes on a bare block and will be picking it up in Jan when I get home on vacation. But right now I am still trying to figure out if I want a single 4 Barrell carb or duals?
But you all know where stuff like this goes.....Fun time as soon as I have the time!!

Any and all advice welcome.

Go to MonteCarloSS.com and all your questions will be answered, you can lurk in there without joining.Stock springs in most cases do not have to be changed, same goes for your motor mounts .This all depends on what condition this stuff is in.

well, i suppose i should post one of the current projects.
this is my (ok, dads and my) 61 studebaker lark, that is to be redone as a drag car. 327 engine, redone heads, 2.02/1.6s, heads were shaved, deck was shaved, cam is... 230degrees at .050s, and .5inch lift?? not very big imo. heads are camelback. speedpro dome pistons, .125inch, and 11:1 compress i think is what its suppsed to be. double roller chain, some other stuff i cant remember.
and yes, the engine will fit. snugly, but it will we think it should. doesnt have a rear end yet, we have some 12 bolts laying around though, but it would have to get narrowed quite a bit. heres some pics

here it is in the garage. the rear is gone now, so currently there is a sys. setup from a caviler U bolted in there. it works for moving it around.

im way to lazy to copy all this so. here are some links

Working on bringing my 66 Impala back to life. it's the one in my avatar. she's a 4dr with a stock 327 and a Powerglide. the motor ran good before i yanked it out for rebuild. probably go with a centrifigul blower and build up the stock tranny so as to keep her a numbers matching car. but i might go with another xmsn set up if i find a good deal on a 5 or 6 speed.

.

Latest is almost done. Stuck the 557" from the Camaro into my Pro-Mod, T/S car.
Motor runs, need a little bit of welding, plumbing & wiring cleaned up.

Old picture, will post more next week, after new oil tank is done. Trying for Aug 9th or 16th testing.

im new to the forum, this is my first post, but in the form of a question. i had a 70 nova sbc. built the motor, 355, patriot alum heads, comp 292 292 501 501 cam, roller rockers, forged flat tops, rods, and crank. sold the car but kept the motor. recently aquired a 99 camaro. i want to put my old carbed sbc in the f-body. but a few things concern me, and i hope you all can help. Motor mouts, what all do i have to modify? i want to use the 4L60-E, because of the overdrive. if i have the tranny built to hold the power, is there a stand alone TCM i can buy or what? because the PCM will be ineffective with the old carbed motor. if anyone has done this swap and could help out with some info, it would definately make it easier for me. and is there anything else besides suspension mods i need to think about.

Just getting started with a project. Buying the block and taking to machine shop this wekeend.

77-81 Camaro - gonna buy one with a POS 305 and then transplant in a forged 383 with pretty ordinary H/C/I. Going to build the motor at my buddy's place up in Oklahoma City over the course of several weekends over the course of the year. Going to probably go with a 700R4, perhaps a beefed up TH350 and a typical rear end.

The idea behind making this car is a crazy exhaust idea my buddy and I thought of (I'm sure others have thought of thyis and done it, too)...I'm gonna have 4 mufflers and 4 electric cutouts. Gonna be longtubes->cutout->flowmasters->cutout->super quiet mufflers on each side. That way it can be three levels of sound...super loud, loud and fairly quiet. Not the most logical thing in the world, but what the hell, should be fun.

That's a lot of money for cutouts but sounds like fun and a unique project.

Just curious though, why do you want 3 levels of sound?
