I pulled the old fuel pump out and placed my new fuel level sender in its place. I had to make a plate to hold it in place but everything turned out great.

So... how does it run? Is this a street/drag car?

Its a street/strip car. Runs good just haven't finished up enough to go to the track and get some times.

I believe the th400 will fit fine. You will need buy a custom trans mount or modify your own. I believe bmr sells them. I doubt you will be able to keep a/c due to the size of the bbc, I think the header primaries would be in the way, but dont take my word for it. If you run turbo, you may not have room for it anyway. Your setup will be custom, so you may be able to run the headers towards the front of the car then down, it all depends on your setup. Im sure you could figure something out. Good luck.

something to add to the list of dos and donts.. i found a 4150 style holley carb on a bbc with metering blocks and fuel bowel extensions will not clear the windsheild. you can have one or the other but both would need windsheild notched for the needle valve to clear.

Why cant someone that mods the hooker headers for an Lt1-big block swap take them off the car and make a few sets to sell. Unless their different everytime, in that case forget this post.

It can be done but there would be no guarantee that it would fit every vehicle.

the way mine sits now with the pinto rack im useing the origianl knuckle with no header mods whatsoever.hooker 2455s ive just ground down the thick part of the knuckle where the u joint rests that interfeers with knuckle. its very close to clearing but when i tighten everything back up im still getting a lil rub im not happy with. been the worst part of the swap i do beleive. id much rather just fool with the knuckle than weld header tubes, Check with MADMAN he will hook you up with a kit if you want to just fab a steering knuckle that clears
