Default Stock Z28 vs stock TA or WS.6

Please forgive this newbie question. I've searched to no avail.

Over the years since I bought my Z28 new from the Chevy dealer, I've always wondered why the TA I test drove at Pontiac seemed to have so much more low end torque and throttle response. I understand they have the same cam, the same differential. The ram air can't explain it. Is it in the tune? Or did I imagine it...

Thanks for setting me straight.

Thanks for that. Interesting, not the answer I expected, especially after my 2 test drives, and the fact that the specs say the SS & WS6 have 15 HP more than the Z28....but at 5200 rpm, that must just be the ram air effect.

Anyway, enough said, after further searches, I've found that this topic has indeed been beat to death, and everyone agrees the difference is only body style and interior.

weight is probably the reason and like said before, minor differences in day to day manufacturing can result in some performance difference.
