Default Stock or Not?

I am getting ready to put my Firehawk up for sale and I was wondering what people thought regarding putting it back to stock, or selling it with the mods that are on it.

Its a low mileage car (25k), and the only mods are all bolt-ons that I could remove in an afternoon.

I'm kind of thinking this car is going to be purchased by more of a collector than just somebody wanting an LS1 f-body.

Is the car going to be more marketable as a basically stock car?

From buying and selling a lot of these type cars I can tell you that any mods you have on it will not bring one cent more than the car would if it was stock...at best. At worste they hurt the value (not from the originalty stand point, but most people see cars with go fast mods and think automaticaly its been abused.) So if they are simple bolt ons its easy to return it to stock. Then you can sell your mods on here or Ebay and typicaly get 70-75% of what they cost new back out of them (asuming you didnt over pay for them to start with.)

Thats what I do and it and its worked great for me.

I would take it back to stock and sell your mods, you would make more in the long run

That's kind of what I was thinking... but before I went through the effort to take the stuff off the car, I figured I'd see what other's thought about it.

I knew that the bolt-on's would not add value to the car, but I was more interested in seeing if they would hurt the value or appeal.

Guess I've got about an afternoons worth of work to do.

Thanks for the input.

Considering the mods are in your sig.... I'd say leave it alone.... don't mention the mods in the ad.

Just give the stock parts to the next owner and say... here, this is the cheap stamped steel torque arm that was stock.... you can see the NICE one made by SLP (creator of the Firehawk) and the heavy pig iron crank pulley.... let him know it's dead weight.... and the better SLP lid.... show him the baffles of the stock one....

Play it right... it's not like you added a cam or headers.... or painted the interior.. the mods you've added are beneficial to the car. I think the minimal mods improves the car.... a true collector knows this stuff. No sweat.

I think it's just fine.
