I have had one of these on my car for well over a year. Scary how much oil it catches when I drive the car hard.

Very high quality part!

I voted with my wallet. The greddy catchcan on ebay was $80, including shipping.

I think the deal is that AMV has another, more important(more profitable) job that they are working on right now. That would be my guess as to why they raised their prices, so they wouldn't have to fool with making 10,000 catch cans a day. Whatever the case may be, nobody should buy from them if they are going to double their prices, it only allows them to get away with it.

I went with the Greddy too for $80 shipped from cardomain.com. I hope for AMW's sake they do have a big project as it looks like these cans won't be making any more revenue...

for what its worth......i bought my AMW catch can at the beginning on 2004 when they first started to make them.....i think i paid like $75-$80 for it. To be honest, for the piece of mind that you get knowing you have an incredibly designed oil catch can preventing oil from getting into the intake, I would still pay $160 for it. I'd rather do that now than worry about paying to have any potential problems fixed in the future by NOT doing it. yes, there are other brands out there, but, i did the research at the time, and the AMW was superior to basically all the others in terms of design, materials, and overall functionality.

your dough guys, but, you can't really put a price on a "preventative maintenance" part like this. It provides a sound piece of mind. And if you are thinking about doing it in the first place, then you must really take care of your car.

just my opinion......
