*UPDATE POST #6*

**UPDATE PAGE 2 POST #22

***FINAL UPDATE PAGE 2 POST #35

****Replaced lighter for bass **** PAGE 3 POST #43

First off BIG THANKS to Engine_HP for helping me figure out pretty much ALL the components in the system, and my boy Clay for helping me wire up everything!

Well basically my stock sound system was going down hill. Once my left rear speaker blew, I decided it was time for an upgrade.

Unfortunatly whoever had my car first BUTCHERED the previous HU install, and left all the wires from their previous system hidden. 3 hours later I had every panel and old wires along with the old HU torn out. Was only able to finish up the new HU tonight. Tomorrow is the speakers!!

MOD LIST:

JVC KDAR-390 head unit (keeaudio)
"transam" head unit mount (humount.com)
ALPINE SPR-17S components (ebay),
KICKER 04SSMB6 MIDBASS SPEAKERs for the sail (ebay),
Cadence FXA-5100 amp (from keeaudio).
Alpine's SWR-1042D 10" subwoofer (keeaudio)
Driverside Steath box

HU Mount

AMP (excuse the random shoe haha)

Int. panels

Poor girl

HU Installed! (sorry about the blur on the lighted pic....camra is gay. But fyi a big choice on the HU was to match the stock red gauges and it does PERFECT)

Stay tuned!

Got everything wired up and ready for the sound test (except the subwoofer it hasnt come in yet) I have to say, it sounds AMAZING. I've never knew what a difference some tweets could make, let alone a whole sound system! its truly awesome! Ill never own another car agian without putting a system in. It's that good. Ill be hiding the wires and buttoning up the int. panels tomorrow with final pics!!

Front components compared to stockers

kicker midwoofers compared to stock sail (notice the stocker cone had seperated COMPLETLY from the foam)

Amp all wired up

Components all hooked up (gonna try and put the tweets in the stock location...)

Kicker mids installed

You have a nice setup there! I like the headunit mount. I'll probably get one for myself. Sorry to jack your idea lol.

Just mounted the amp through the carpet...it's think enough to hold it in place.

Ha, honestly I didnt know any better, 12g is what was in the amp kit, so i stuck with it. works fine!

no biggie on the HU. glad I could give you an idea. I got it from humount

That is some serious speaker wire coming out of the sail panel. Just a little big don't you think? If it works it works tho. I would be worried about the wire chaffing threw under the speaker tho if it is tight.
