Default LS1 vs Foxbody

88 Fox- 308, 10:5:1 pistons,4 10s,Short throw,F cam, Heads,throttle body,Pullies,trickflow upper and lower,bbk cai, tune,some weight reduction, MAF,24lb injectors,no AC.

02 T/a- Full bolton's, dyno tune, nitto's with crappy 2 73s...

Heres the story, me and this guy have been talkin crap to each other for forever. and the last time we raced we went from a dig, and I pulled him by 2 cars outa the gate then he let off. Now this time, he says ok lets do a roll.. then ill give u ur dig. So we line up 35mph and were suppose to go to 130.
Instead, we take off and he puts about a car or maybe 1.5 cars on me at 85 then my car starts to pick up a little, (2 73s) and I start making up ground and im almost to his bumper.and then he hits the brakes. Idk If i was gonna make a car and a half but I think it woulda been close. after that we pulled into a parking lot and talked, then when I asked to go from a dig... he said "noooo, I jus destroyed you from a roll" ME: So your jus gonna take that crappy roll win? HIM: " Yea you dont want it from a dig."
So we really only raced 75 mph. 35-110. But I guess its a loss, and I hate when people talk about races then dont post up. So I figured id post up.

well you know you gotta get a gear but otherwise that guy sounds like he's afraid to lose. He shouldn't be. Sounds like he has a decent ride and kept up nicely with his mods.

That's aggravating for the guy to agree to something and then go back on it. Sounds like he's got a good running combo, though. I wonder what heads...

With 342's you would walk him as strong as your car sounds. The f-cam in that the Stang is his down fall with stock e-7 heads, the cam is doing nothing for him.He let off cause he was running out of gear.Nice death.

Probably so, also what you raced was a 302 not a 308. but yea im still on stock convertor, so it sucks from a roll.

since he held you off up top(his weak spot), i dont see you being in front as long as he can drive. with ported stock heads a dig would be to his advantage, if his car hooks ok he should pull you from a dig too

good runs. gears for you would probably change the outcome dramatically.

Na, from a dig I woulda made him look silly! My car hooks up reallllly good, and last time we raced from a dig I put 2 on him off the start and was still pulling...by 70 he let out of it and i was prolly close to 3-4 cars ahead.

LOL, a 302 and a 308 are the same thing, one has a .040 overbore, helps a little but doesnt always mean anything, could even make less than stock depending on how it was machined, clearances, etc.

Sounds to me like the guy with the stang doesn't want to lose. I have the 2.73s in my car and I hear you when you say they suck. Shitty pick up from a launch. Change the gears, get a stall, and get some video of the excuses he makes when you stomp his ass next time.
