Default First Encounter With A Nissan GT-R

Sorry long story but it was a very exciting night....

Cliff notes: didn’t get to race the GT-R (I know I would of gotten KILLED anyway, but hey....) but did get a good game of cat and mouse and pacing him. Also got a some good kills against an exhaust only 2006-2007 Subaru STI

Well heres the story.... haha enjoy.

So I left my friends house and was at the local chevron about to fill up gas then I see a new silver Nissan GT-R pull onto the highway. I thought to myself is that the new Nissan? so never seeing one in person I said hell with the gas and pulled onto the freeway and chased him down... after a couple of minuets I spotted him and pulled up next to him. Downshifting into 4 I began to pace him for a little bit. I was surprised that it didn’t sound to loud. Probably all stock. My car was louder then his... then he randomly slowed way down. Figuring he was down to race from a lower speed. As I started to slow down he sped back up to normal speed... maybe wanted to eye my car out? Anyway got back up to his speed and paced him again giving him a few revs here and there. With the fires happening in Santa Barbara there was a few cars on the highway so we weren’t able to get a good open straight away. So we just began to play cat n mouse with each other. FINALLY then a long open stretch of highway was in front of us. So I said to myself this is it! so we began to slow down and I downshifted into 3 gear with my adrenaline pumping. As I was about to do the 3 honks a COP pulls onto the highway in front of us!!! so then he pulled off and I took the sign and called it quits and turned around to head home. Even though I didn’t get to race him. Def was a hell of a time messing around with one! But still would have been sick to say I raced one...

So then as I was heading back the other way a 2006-2007 Subaru STI was driving a little behind me. So I slowed down to let him ketch up and he quickly passed me. So I caught up to him downshifting into 4 and began to pace him and gave him a rev. took him a while to budge but finally he randomly floored it. So downshifted into 3 real quick going about 70mph. by that time he was a car and half in front of me. Began to reel him in and stop his pull. Passed him around 90ish? and shut it down at 105mph. by that time I had 2 and half cars on him.... so slowed down and of course "the ricer flyby" haahaha once he passed me he slowed down and we were pacing each other again. Then back to 70 mph in 3 gear I gave one honk and was about to give the 2 and of course he floors it again. Pulled about a car on me. But this time I was a little more ready so I floored it and stopped his pull and passed him again around the same speed. Slowed back down. But this time he didn’t do a flyby haha. Did the exact same races again two more times with him jumping....! but still same results. Pulled up next to him and he was smiling and laughing..? Then gave each other the thumbs up and I headed back home. Guess its funny losing...? Haha but anyway great fun night I had! Pretty sick messing around with an GT-R.

Thanks for reading...

You would have been killed, those cars run mid to high 11's. If you search my name in the kill section you will see my post about the Nissan. There was a guy that ran a 7.3 in the 1/8th at Moorseville with the launch control on. He was bone stock.

From a dig would of been murder, but maybe not so bad from a roll. I watched several only trap 114-116 range, i think they are false advertisement. Sweet cars though, amazing fucking technology in every area.

I've seen the one he was talking about. It trapped 96mph in the 1/8th. I'm not sure how they are on the back half, but I'd imagine that one would go around 122-123mph.

I think the highest stockers are trapping in the low, low 120s under ideal conditions.

Here is the route we took- http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=78261 Only followed the 2nd half of the cruise since in the begining me and a blue z28 (one of the pics I took) got punked by a green sentra who cut us off at the on ramp went slow, vettes in front going fast by the time we got around no vettes and 3 ways to choose from. Second half was awesome pulled out all the stops and drove like asses and stayed with the front and lost the careful drivers, left my auto in 2nd and 3rd gear most of the way, apparently flames were coming out the back when I should of up shifted-did some burnouts for some school kids saw a buggati veyron, was pretty sweet heres a link to the thread pics are scattered. http://www.norcal-lsx.com/forum/show...t=62674&page=9
