Default 02 TA vs 08' Challenger R/T

Forgot to mention this but had a run in with a new Challenger over the weekend as well. Came up beside him at 65 and he sped up to 73 which is killer range for me. We took off with me in 3rd putting a length on real quick and then a steady pull from there. I let off at 120 with 3-4 car lead on the Challenger. Quick, but nothing real special.

I would have thought it would be worse for him. I expected you to be I/E/T only until I read your signature. Was the R/T stock?

Yep, looked all stock. I redline at 6400 with my cam setup and never shifted past 5700. 5700-6400 is the powerband for that cam and did not go there.

damn! that r/t was quick....
with that whp, u could only pull 3-4 cars? doesnt sound right to me.... even if u shifted at 5500 rpm, u could still be pumping out at least 400 whp

lol obviously you haven't driven a h/c ls1...if he is only shifting at 5700 or so he is nowhere near his powerband. Honestly a h/c ls1 at 5700 wont be all that much faster then a bolton ls1. I know at 5700 after my heads and cam i wasn't making that much more power then when i had boltons, not to mention if he is shifting that low then once he shifts he will be at like 4500 or so which is way below his powerband. I remember when i had boltons i raced a friend who was cam only and he was shifting at 5500 or so at the track and i beat him because of that. If he would have really gotten on it he probably would have beat him by ALOT more

I don't know how accurate those times are, but from the video it looks like a wheel hopping turd!

Anyone know what makes the power output more than the 5.7L hemi charger?

It makes a big difference from 5700 on in my car. Whatever the case, that was the end result. I did not push the car as was pulling the whole time.

Good Kill. I would like to see how my ride do against a challenger r/t or srt 8. I seen them b4 in my area but never raced one yet...

It was a little closer run when I ran my neighbors SRT8 Charger as he has a bit of mods to it, but neither were a big threat. Took the Charger from 60-110 by a couple cars...that was before my last exhaust work and new tune.
