Default Built TT 01 Audi S4 vs H/C 02 Z28 (VIDS)

My buddy set this race up and it was a blast. All of the mods are in the vids but basically it's a 2001 Audi S4 with RS6 turbos, meth, 27 pounds of boost, exhaust that made 460 awhp on a mustang dyno. My car is a mild H/C with beefed up drivetrain, 4.10s, and a short geared 6-speed. Dyno and track numbers in sig.

They were great runs and great guys. His car was clearly faster as seen in the fourth race but it took him a few runs to get his best run in. There are only four races but you'll see each of them twice (once from each in-car vid). Runs were all pretty much to 120ish, top of fourth for me. I think this vid shows how I drive my car well consistently and how a car that makes a lot more power isn't always going to win the race. Second or third run from 40 he couldn't hear the honks and the 20mph run from 1st gear he left his traction control on and it killed his boost on the shift to third. Enjoy.

Thanks man. And yeah, they were fun as hell. That Audi was one fast car. I'm guessing he'd be trapping 120 or so on a good run at the same track I run at. He was pulling pretty good in that last one. I'm actually working on getting the vids up from the overpass we went under on two of the races that show that last race to be a bit closer than it looks from in the car, but he was still pulling strong and steady.

Those were some good races... I'm curious, how do you think a run from a dig would have went? I know they're AWD but I have no idea how they perform off the line.

Honestly, I don't know how well they perform off the line. I would have to assume that with a sick AWD driver I would get wrecked off the line, but he's still learning the car and with those ET Street I can launch the hell out of my car on the street, so I have a feeling I would have had no problem keeping up with him from a dig today. I actually think based on those races that I would have out-launched and out-driven him from a dig because he would have had trouble building boost and like I said, he's still learning the car, but that's all speculation. With some more seat time, that thing is gonna be even more of a monster and totally ridiculous from a dig if he can launch it well.

On the positive side, this was my first time running the ET Streets on the street (bought them for the track) and they hook unbelievably well. That 20 mph run was prime 1st gear with VERY steep gearing and the weather this morning was around 30 degrees out! It just spun a little then grabbed. With my Nittos, second gear would have been totally useless because of the temp, nevermind first. A burnout with the ET Streets and I can actually launch the car from a decent RPM on the street. My Nittos are just about burned up and I'll be replacing them with ET Street Radials after seeing how these hooked up in 30 degree weather.

224/228 581/588 113 LSA. Even a 75 shot would have done it but I'm not a big nitrous fan. I'm saving up for a real H/C/I setup, not this weakest-H/C-in-the-world setup. That should give me the extra 75 or so rwhp all motor all the time. Never was big on nitrous, especially when my current setup is clearly lacking in power. I don't like the idea of worrying about bottle pressure, running out of nitrous, faulty switches, etc. Too many people use that stuff for an excuse when they lose. I just want to have my full power all the time, every time I step on the gas. I'll be shooting for 10s all motor 346 full weight.

Good races! Definitely shows that more hp doesn't always win the race if the guy hasn't figured out how to drive his car yet. If that had been a random chance meeting and you had only raced once with no vid then people would be calling BS on you hanging right with a 460 awhp car, disregarding the driver factor.

smok'nZ, with the weak ass heads/cam setup on that car the shortblock isn't even breathing heavy

x2 on all of this. Actually, people would probably be calling BS on the fact that his car made 460 to the wheels. And yeah, I think it's time for a real H/C/I setup on this car. I need to stop worrying about those pesky pullied Cobras.

Nice runs. Good kills. For a Stg 3 S4 w/ all the stuff he has, his car slow. He should be much faster. Oh well, that's racing. I know I'd be pissed if it was my S4. Do you know who did his tuning? I won't call BS on him making 460whp, but I just think he's not fast for that much power. I've run many F-bodies in your power range from 40/60 rolls and he should be able to pull away from you. Buttttt he didn't, so he needs to go back and get his car running properly for the level of modification he claims. All I know is if I had all that stuff on my car and got pulled by 400whp car weighing between 3300-3500lbs, I'd be pissed!!!!

Again, good kills. Tell him to get his shit running right!

Oh it's tuned well and running great, he just needs some more seat time. You can see how much he improved just between the first run (neck and neck) and the last run (car and a half and pulling hard on me) where he changed shift points, but he's only had the car for like 2 months I think. The car was built and tuned by some guy named Tony at EPL, who drove the car to 125mph at the track, so it's definitely running right. Learning a new car can take a while for sure.

Yea, I just saw the thread on the Audi board. If he's learning the car, then makes more sense. I'm not taking anything from you car, because it runs. Period. It's just that he has A LOT of work done to that car and it should be real quick. But like I always say,"when you come to play, be on your A game or you will get beat!!!" You're on your A game, he wasn't. You were driving the **it of it. haha. That's what makes it so much fun.

I've been considering those RS6 turbos or GT28s. Here in TX, everybody and their damn Momma is modded. LOL. Shit, I ran a LS6 swapped SS this past weekend. The other week I was running a built 414 LS2'd CTSV and Viper GTS couple. I don't know where these cats get the money for this stuff.....I'm not hating, I just wanted to know so I can get my share of it too.

Definitely. I'm not the best driver in the world but I'm pretty solid and especially consistent, plus I know my car very well and run it quite often. And yeah, those RS6 turbos definitely seem to wake that car up like crazy. What do they run stock? Like mid-14s? That previous owner/builder trapping 124-125 with it is just plain scary. I'll need a top of the line H/C/I setup just to think about keeping up with him, nevermind the AWD advantage with a good driver.

Stock the avg driver can run 14.1 @ 98. At least I did. Yea, the RS6s do wake it up. Even the K04s I have woke it up. Closes runs I've had lately (40-140/150) have been 485-500whp 03/04 Cobras, 01 Viper GTS Coupe with exhaust/intake. I honesetly think my car will only dyno 380-400whp on a mustang dyno but all the people I've run around here swear I'm lying. Like you, I just know my car very well and how to get the most out of it. I think that's the reason why cause cars that use to get me by a car or two I know pull them. I haven't changed a thing since. Just know the car much better.

What do you have planned next for yours?
