Default had a couple fun runs

well im on my way to my hometown, and im drving through one of the towns on the way, and there had been a late model monte carlo drving like speed racer i paced him one time but he didnt want to race, just drive 85mph. whatever floats your boat. so i see a light up ahead turning yellow and then notice a gorgeous acura tl weaving through traffic and lined up with me in the middle and the monte on the right and TL on the left. i turned to my wife and said "watch this im gonna launch all over these 2 FWD cars" so i looked over to see if they were up for some fun, the acura guy was revving on me so i knew he was but the monte was talking on his cell. so light turned green and i jumped out probably 2 cars on the TL and from 0-110 might have slowly pulled one more. that TL had my respect after that. well we pulled up to the next light and the guy in the TL was very upset, he almost didnt wind his window down, but when he did i said "great race man, your cars fast as hell" he just said "its FWD i cant launch like you" and rolled his window back up. and he looked like he just sucked on a lemon. the monte was nowhere to be seen
oh yeah i was in my TBSS with a couple heavy suitcases. that might have helped or hurt i dont know.

later on i was rolling up the highway and kept seeing some really odd headlights, now im a huge car lover and can usually identify a car by its lights or at least what brand. but i had no idea what this was, well it keeps playing hide and seek as its making its way up to me. well it turns out it was a mazda RX8. and as he got closer he made it clear he really wanted to test me out, we did a couple highway pulls, but i really wasn't impressed. we'd hit it and he'd just immediately start falling back. i did make sure i was at a good speed for me but still. i never thought about it but maybe he was an auto too. that would explain that total ass whuppin he received.

From the little ive read online RX-8s are dog shit slow. I'm in the market for an AWD TBSS right now.. hopefully within the next few weeks. Nice kills.

it's your money but i wasnt really impressed with the awd TBSS, more weight and none of the fun donuts. mine rips like mad out of the hole. i cant see the AWD taking off much harder. now granted you throw a stall on it and i see some serious traction probs. but i wont be modding mine any time soon. its just the family vacation vehicle. shitty gas mileage getting vacation vehicle

I'm going with the AWD so that I have something a little more stable for shitty weather. I just sold my 05 CBR so that I could get something more practical.. I just had a son and need backseats. I'm well aware the RWD ones move out better, but I have no intention of turning the TBSS into a speed vehicle. Maybe exhaust and tune or something.

Enjoy it while you can because once you start modding no one will want to race you anymore unless they have like a 8-9 second street car!!
I wana crush some poor guy in a TL or a Mustang..

+1 to that. I've often told my friends that just bolt-ons are all you need to have fun. The bigger you go, the more you limit your competition. That's one thing that excites me about a TBSS.. a couple basic mods and it's a decent match for a lot of the stock sports cars out there.

sorry man, i wasn't trying to change your mind, i was just throwing my opinion out there, i was kinda wishing i had the awd this weekend, on the way back home it started pouring down a mix of rain and ice. i was hydroplaning and getting real squirrely. but i have a 04 trailblazer 4wd i use for work/ family duty so that's the main reason i got 2wd on the TBSS

oh and exhaust, intake and tune is all these beasts really need. if, like you said you don't plan on a speed demon. its real fun picking on little sports cars that think THEY are gonna pick on you
