Default SRT8 Challenger fails at fly by

Headed home from my buddies house today saw a brand new blacked out Challenger a few cars ahead of me in the turn lane.
So since I had only barely played with one on the highway I decided to jump out and hook up the bottle.
We both turned left pulled up next to him gave a good rev and nothing. Well then after making a right turn 1/2 mile down the road I saw him, in my rearview, as he got over into the left lane .
Then he tries to do a ricer fly by, I downshifted to second and went WOT. Immediately stopped his pull, then began to pull on him then we hit traffic.
Tried to follow him to see if he would go from a dig but no such luck. I have to admit that his car looked awesome, even if he did pay too much for it.....

That sucks, he is probably just getting used to it and he is not very confident yet with all the LS1 stories out mopping the floor of em. Kinda funny that you would jump out to arm the N20 for one

Not sure why you're defending a poser that paid an extra 10-15K just so he could be "one of the first to own these". And why the hell not turn on the bottle, I didn't know what he had in that thing. For all I knew it coulda had a blower, my friend was just at a car show and saw a supercharged one. Obviously he can't drive and it was not all that necessary but if I got it, I'm using it.
EDIT:
Oh and if he wants to get better at driving it, he needs to run it heads up rather than trying to sneak up on what appears to be a mostly stock 10 year old LS1 car.
He got what he deserved......

They're slow period. Not sure where you get " defending him "

" LS1 stories out mopping the floor with them " is not defending him

Youre gonna do wonderful here

That's all fine and good if he says he wasn't then he wasn't. It was just the way he started the first response that sounded that way to me, no biggie....

ok...... so the spray wasn't all that necessary or it wasn't necessary. was it a close run? either way, i would have thrown the spray on too for an attempted fly-by. would you have run him heads up with out the spray?

Maybe the guy just really digs the car and was trying to have some fun. What makes him a poser?

Low 13s, plenty of options and unique retro-styling - I doubt he paid "too much" for it

Nice stoppage on the fly-by though. Too many newbies out there not knowing how to line up and go.

Screw it man, use everything you got and whipe the floor with that dodge with your 10 year old squeaky creaky f-body. Of course, I would rather have a dodge than a ford... unless it is an 03 terminator.

Didn't ever really find out, would have been glad to run him heads up motor/motor or motor/bottle or whatever, if I could've gotten him to stop and he wanted to play around. As far as being close, with me on bottle not really.
My original intention, by revving at him was to see if we could get a couple runs together but after he tried to fly by and I stopped it to he didn't seem very interested. I mean I haven't even seen one of those cars up close in person, was hoping to talk to the dude maybe have a closer look at the car and all, but....

I'm sure he digs the car I do too thats why I wanted some action. It was how he tried to sneak up and fly by me that I thought was lame.
I mean if I can afford one in a few years and run across a clean used one, I would jump all over it.
Assuming that seeing the 5th gen in person doesn't change my mind....
