Default Pullied 03 Cobra pulls New Corvette

I've never street raced my car before, but encountered a really nice blue C6 Corvette vert driving to Sonic with my wife yesterday. It was being driven by a couple younger guys that didn't seem too interested. To keep it short, I got next to them in 3rd at about 60 mph on the interstate and was getting ready to honk it off if they were willing. They took off as soon as I got up beside them so I hit it and immediatedly stopped their pull and passed them. I took it up into 4th gear and they were 5 or 6 cars back by the time I let off. That's my estimate on how far back they were, but it's hard to tell by looking in the mirrors. I got off at the next exit (to go to Sonic) and they exited with me. They pulled up to me at the stoplight and we exchanged compliments. They were pretty cool guys and told me I had a "Sick Car". They wanted to know what size pulley I was running so they obviously knew a little about 03/04 cobras. Didn't catch any info on their car due to a green light, but I'm pretty sure it was stock. I was definitely not expecting to pull them so hard. I really like the new vettes and would love to own one myself. Anyway, I was happy with my first and probably only kill. Now the wifey finally believes me that my car isn't a slow POS.

Nice kill. How could your wife think a pullied Cobra was a slow POS if she'd been for a real ride in it? Mine had to look at her lap to keep from getting the spins at WOT.

LOL, a really nice Corvette vert! You crack me up!

Good kill, but who cares if your wife thinks your car is fast or not?

Any idea if this was a 08/ls3 vs an LS2 motor?

I guess the only definitive is if they have the GM logo in front of the rear tire, that designates an 06MY or later right??

Sorry, I don't know the answer. I just saw that it was a C6 and most definitely not a Z06. I know the results would have been different if that was the case.

Well, even LS3 c6s are real stout.

I agree, I think an LS3 C6 would have given you a better run by far, especially if you are still trapping 117.

good kill none the less. I absolutely love the 03-04 cobra's and would love to own one my self. Never gets old hearing of a Terminator with minimal mods whooping up on a newer sports car.
