Default 2003 2.8KB Cobra vs Turbo Trans AM

Little action from tonight. rudyzturbota has been wanting to run vetth8tr so tonight we finally got to hook it up. One run, Cobra had 260lb camera man, TA was driver only. Both were on some kind of drag radial.

Yeah a KB pushing 22 lbs through it is gonna run pretty damn good. To be honest though I thought the T/A was gonna put up more of a fight. Good runs though nice to see a good running Cobra in action.

If I caught the conversation correctly, the TA was needing to upgrade his fuel system so he could turn up the boost, that and he has 2.73 gears in his rear end. I know that loads the turbo but his drag radials looked to be 28" tall so I'm sure he would pick some up with his rear end change to 3:55's that's coming up.

The cobra is running a pretty safe tune even though that was his "race" tune, he had belt slip issues that prevented him from setting it to kill on the dyno, the issues are fixed now just need to get it retuned.

Good video! Those KB Cobras are no joke. Should be fun to watch once the TA steps up his game, especially if the Cobra wasn't full bore yet.

The TA ran pretty good.
With equal boost the TA would have walked away IMO

Half assed turbo setup FTL!

This is what a properly setup T-76 can do on less c.i even....

22lbs on a turbo ta would pull that kb like john force. Mine is well over 600 on 5#'s and over 700 on 10lbs "twins" Not exactly the same.

Vetth8tr's setup is a *little* more salty than the cobra in that video. All said and done tuned to the max it would have very similar numbers to that TA. Maybe not quite that much torque but it's already bested those hp numbers @5800 rpm and they had to stop the dyno pull do to belt slip, which has been fixed just not retuned.
