Me cam only 120,000mile 413whp 35,000 miles ago vs 02ish mustang with 500whp. Built 5.4, ported heads, ported heads, sheet metal intake, vortec blower.
When we took off i was in a bad spot rpm wise. I was in 2nd at around 3k rpm's he jumped out hard. He was high in his power band i wasn't. he is up little over a car in the 1st sec of the race and when i get in my power band and he isn't pulling anymore we are about dead even, but he is in front Then i start slowly catching up top and he got me by a car at the end. So yeah i got beat but it was a fully built motor with a blower and 100whp more of a car only got me by a car I wanted to race again on the way back but he wouldn't The vid should be up soon i would think.

nope everything is true. He has 2 stages of nitrous too but wasn't using them.

Respectable death OP. With his set up RWHP seems way low. With 100 or so more HP and a centrifical blower I would think he would have beat you worse. Good job.
I have stock 10 bolt with 3.42's. im about to have a Midwest fab 9" with 4.11's and tube k-member will be on the car next month Also about to pick up a 6.0 short block and l92 heads. If i would of been in my power ban the way i gained on him up top i think i would of edged him off.

Good race! Goes to show hp isn't always a definite determining factor. +1 however on the guys numbers seeming low, he should get a set of cams to make it a real built street beast.

Nice death. Did he say how much boost? My stock 4.6 was putting 500 dowm with 12psi on a procharger before I built it.
Edit: is it a 2v or a 4v?
^^ Thats a good question I just assumed it was a four valve. Why would anybody go throught the effort and expense of swapping in a 5.4 and go with a 2V?
My stock Procharged 4.6 is making 440+ through an stalled unlocked auto so I would be at the 500 mark with a stick.
I have have trapped 120mph in 1/4. My car really doesn't make power until around 4-4500rpm's. With me being in Wong gear on start only at 3,000rpm's in 2nd. With him being at high rpms in his power ban he jumped out hard about 1.5-2 cars in the 1st second in the race. Then i got in my power band and slowly started to reel him in and at the end of the race i was at his bumper. My car is also full weight with passenger and my full detailing kit lol So i think with me in the right gear and no passenger and all my dally driving stuff in my car i would of pulled him. I was on Hankook all season tires he was on Nitto's DR. His car had fuel cell and everything you can think of. Its Kind Of sad if ya ask me. Driver was a nice guy tho. As far a boost i dont think its super high because he has 2 stages of nitrous and i know the 1st stage is a 150shot don't no what the 2nd one is. He did no use nitrous on me. Btw im lol 260lbs driver too lol and had 170lbs passenger LOL I wanted to race again on way back but he went another way I showed the camera man on the way back how much beter my car feels in the power ban and he said there was a huge difference. Anyone that has a cam in there car will now how much slower the are from 3k compared to 4-4,500
Regardless i did get beat and yeah i think it was my fault but i did loose. There are a ton of cars way faster in mine i dont get mad if i losse , but all i have is mid sized cam only, cheap Bolton's and i got took up by a full built heads/cam/blower/sheet metal intake/fuel cell/full bolt on car by one car 500whp so im happy

I don't doubt your death by one car, I just think there is something really wrong with that rustang. My ported stock heads/cams/stock intake 4.6 with a d1sc @ 15lbs went low 10's and trapped 138.
