Call me crazy......ignorant.....dumb....whatever, but I agree with teh Supra bashing.

Show me supra with the same HP/TQ as another car and pulling the same ET's? They are grreat for roll/highway racing.......but other than that? I mean really, how great are they at a 1320 track?

Building a car with nothing but roll racing/highway racing in mind is moronic IMO.

but that's me.

The fastest 6speed powered car in the world is a supra. Which just so happens to be the same car that holds the record in the texas mile. Just because a lot of people who buy them want four digit horsepower readings doesn't mean they are not capable of some amazing 1/4 times.

That being said, I still think they are grossly over priced and are constantly talked up by the typical fanboys.

I was talking generally....and I know it is.

Like I said..maybe I'm just too ignorant on Supra's, but I have yet to see one that has put down nice ET's with 'on the par' power levels as other cars (weight considered).

I agree with your edited add-on.

There is one from Tucson (might be phoenix) that runs low tens at 130+. I think 600 ish hp. When I am home, I'll try to find videos/info on the car. Don't know the guy personally, but he has a small e-rivalry with a 10 sec turbo sn95 from Tucson also.

Then I'd say he's got that thing set up nicely.

What do you mean who makes 380+ at 1500? Plenty of people do, especially people with roots/twin screw superchargers. If you read correctly I said he made 200ish at 5k rpms.

How many cars go to 9k rpms? Not many. Btw the 380tq at 1500 rpm was off a centri. I'm sure someone on this forum has a much more impressive tq number at lower rpms with a kb blower.

380 from a T/S blower, yea ok. I can see that. Centri...I don't believe it, unless FUCKING built. And since it wasn't clear, I was thinking N/A ls1.

No kidding...that's why your earlier statement is asinine. The car will not be racing at low RPM. It will be operating in the 5,000-10,000 rpm range and will be MUCH faster than your slow ass car that makes 380tq at 1500rpm.

EDIT: Who gives a shit! I love ALL cars and the 96 TT supra was my dream car as a young tyke!!! On the real if you want to talk rice I saw a new white Haundai Tucson w/ the blitz body kit and a 1/2 foot Suburu scoop lowered sittin on what looked like some fat ass snow tires... I was on the service road of George Bush in Carrollton Tx and tried to get a pick of this silly lil car but he went on the u-turn to head the other way. It had me sick to my stomach the rest of the way to my daughters daycare!

I call bullshit on your little story Roger, I want proof that you stayed right with a car that has a 300rwhp advantage on you.

Because all these Supra ricers always claim their cars are "street driven", not race cars. And having a motor that gutless on the street is damn near useless, and just plain embarassing. No street car spends all its time at 5,000RPM+ racing. If I had to rev to 3,000RPM to move my piece of shit Supra out of a parking space I would be ashamed.

Supras are the most overrated and overhyped cars ever, right next to the Skyline. They are nothing more than ricer's wet dreams, yet there is nothing special at all when compared to real cars. Sure you can make a Supra fast, but you can make plenty of other cars fast as well, and for much cheaper and with tons more power and torque.

As for the Supra being the fastest 6 speed car, thats because nobody has tried to beat them. If someone felt like spending the time and money to make an LSX 6 speed car faster than a Supra, it would happen, no two ways about it. Same thing with the Texas mile.

Why the hell would anyone want to turn 9,000RPM when the same power can be made at 6,000RPM?? Thats completely pointless, and just puts tons more stress on the rotating components of the motor and trans. Ricers are the only ones who brag about how high they can rev their motors.

I love how they call that a street car. Thats NO fucking street car by any definition of the word.

The reason the trans holds up to that is because its Getrag trans, not a Toyota trans. Toyota trannies blow up in Matrices with 130HP.

Well you can hardly call a car worthless if the transmission and rear end can take that kind of abuse and it being a street car or not has nothing to do with anything. You said supras were worthless period.

Calling a supra worthless is just plain ignorance. They are sure as hell built a lot better than fbodies. See if you can get a stock rear end ls1 to run in the 7's without breaking.

Keep in mind im an fbody owner like most here, but calling a supra worthless just because you dont like how they make power is just dumb.

wow... just wow..

You must have been beaten up by a Supra owner or two judging from your blatant hatred and ignorance...
