what a shame. thing is, thats a calculated risk we all take every single time we give her the goose..... we risk ourselves, the people we race, and the other people on or near the road. sometimes the we bet and lose.

That's terrible. This is why nobody "should" street race. Atleast nobody else was injured. Here is a pic I ran across from Kuwait ( I think ) and it is nearly identical though the Ford must have been traveling at a higher speed.
Some people are comfortable driving 65 mph, some 150 mph. Inexperienced drivers don't know the limits to their abilities and end up causing an accident. Unfortunately it took a life in this situation. I'm not one to judge how other people drive unless they risk hurting anyone else other than themselves-Which is why I have come to street race, if I do, on backroads. Shame..
Cops are people just like all of us. They make mistakes and cheat on their families and break the law. It's just when they're at work they've got all the power. Sucks to be him. All's we can do is hope nothing like this ever happens to anyone.
Did anybody see skid marks because I didnot but I feel for his family.

Um. You can be very experienced and still lose it at high speeds. Especially on the street. Not to mention as a police officer he more than likely had high speed training as well.
Don't make comments on things you know nothing about. You have no idea what kind of experience he had. And don't play the age game either. There are probably 20yr olds that could out drive seasoned veterans. Not that I am one of them but I am sure they are out there somewhere.
He may have taken driving courses but he was a detention deputy that worked in a hospital guarding prisoners. At 23 doubt he had alot of high speed driving experience under his belt. Big difference between an SS Camaro and a 180 RWHP Crown vic that ways 4500 lbs. If all Cops drove SS's and GT's there would be alot more wrecks. God bless him and his family.
i dont care how good of a driver you are a good pothole can kill you when your carving corners, and we got a ton of em here in the bay. unfortunately its more about money than safety and there's no money in fixing the streets.

More people die in their own bathtubs a year then by streetracing. So I guess no one "should" take baths.
