Got a few races in with my brother and SlowSho in his Buick Regal GS.
We got 6 races in, two with the G8 vs the Regal, two with the Z28 vs the Regal, and two with the G8 vs the Z28. The G8 GT is a 2009 that is bone stock and has run 13.5 @ 102.9 on a cold day. The Z28 is a 1994 A4 with mild bolt-ons and has run 13.9 @ 99 on a hot day. The Regal is supercharged with bolt-ons (think Grand Prix GTP) and has run a 13.9 @ 99 on a hot day.
We got two runs with the G8 vs the Regal. The passenger was in the G8. Both runs were 25mph starts. In the first run the G8 slowly pulled and won by 1+ car. In the second run the Regal got out by a 1/2 car and then the G8 pulled back, winning by 1 car.
Next up was the LT1 vs the Regal. First race the camera was in the Regal and it was a 25 mph start. The Z28 started in 2nd (doh) and the Regal pulled out well, but up top the LT1 pulled back and won by a 1/2 car. On the second run the camera was in the Camaro and he jumped slightly. It was much closer the whole run and the LT1 pulled it out by a 1/2 car.
Next we ran the LT1 against the G8. The first run was a 25 mph start and the passenger was in the G8 every race. The LT1 pulled out hard, getting well over 1 car ahead and then the G8 pulled back, winning by a 1/2 car. next we went from a dig and it was pretty even until the speeds got up, where the G8 pulled 1+ car, winning.

Yeah, that Buick is a badass sleeper. I knew it was gonna move out based on how it ran at the track, but it still suprised me to see it in person.
The G8 is definitely high on my to do list. I've had it for about 10 months and it's still stock...that's never happened before.
Yes the buick's are nice sleeper's, mine(mods in sig) went 14.0 on a crappy 2.19 60ft. Track prep was poop and it was 88 degrees out. it should(key word) go 13.6 in good air with a 2.0 60ft. Nice vid btw!

Nice races. Man those G8 GT are quiet I couldn't even hear it. Looked like pretty even runs till higher speeds.

Yeah, my car is painfully quiet. I actually removed the axelback mufflers tonight to see how it would sound if I had an exhaust shop put some straight pipes in for me. It does sound better from outside the car, but drones on the inside, so the jury is still out on it.
I'm definitely impressed with how this car pulls once you get up into the 85-90plus range. I'm sure a GXP is even more fun up top though How do you like yours?

Is your Cobalt stock? If not then I think you'd beat a G8 from a roll pretty easily (not sure how the new Cobalt are from a dig, but I know the SC ones had big traction issues), but if it is then it would probably be a real good race. You did say that you beat a 2004 GTO once though, and it looked like my car was going to be about even with my dad's stock 2004 when we messed around so...
As for not being able to get a race, it's the flipside to the sleeper coin, haha.

Close races are the best for sure! Yeah, that Buick was very impressive. A new tune and a ported blower for it and things will probably turn out different next time.

I had a GTP with a DHP computer, 3.6 pulley, home-made airbox, and a u-bend delete that went 13.8@100. Fun car. Now we have a minivan.

At least you still have your Camaro (I hope...). I use to have a 1999 Grand Prix GT. It was pretty good for what it was (15.58 @ 87mph bone stock) but as soon as I bought it I wished I had bought a GTP instead.
