Default My Cam Only GTO (old setup) VS 537whp Saleen

Video speaks for itself. First race 60 roll, second race 30 roll, third race 60 roll. I wanted a dig but was denied....

Based off the 30 roll you can see why he denied the dig...

GTO - forged 347ci (approximatly 2000 grams removed off assembly), stock 241s, 239/242 649/609 111lsa cam, usual bolt ons, billet 3500 converter, built 4l60, aluminium ds, slicks & skinnies, 3.46 gear, light weight flex plate, no a/c, no p/s, excessive weight reduction.

Saleen - 03 stroked cobra motor (301ci) Blower cams, stage 2 foxlake heads, P1SC on 12 lbs, 537whp on Dez Racings Dyno jet. Everything else stock and weighs in for this race close to 4000 pounds.

its more in the setup of the car..... and the mass amounts of weight i pulled out of it. The dyno numbers really mean nothing.... He made 537whp on Dez Racings dyno jet. I made 383whp through a 3500 converter unlocked on the worlds most stingy dyno. He revs that thing to 6k, i reved mine to 7200. It adds up. More to it then the hp number..... however it is fun beating on things with lots of "hp".

Yeah, it must feel great! And you beat him real good on a roll for an auto, but 7200 is giving you nice top end punch!!

MS4?

Your would be surprised about valve train but i ran ls-7 lifters, chromoly push rods, stock rockers, and prc 650 lift springs. The stock equipment is actually very good stuff. the most important thing with valvetrain is not getting the best parts money can buy but setting it up correctly. Never bent a push rod, never collapsed a lifter, never broke a rocker, and never floated a valve.

Stang had lack of traction from the 30 roll. Unfortunatly most people build cars to make hp.... not necessarily be fast. This was an example of a dyno queen.

didnt miss any gears... just wasnt catching me. There was a lot of traffic that day so we couldnt really wind it out. The 60 rolls went to about 110-120 before letting out. I asked him if he wanted to do it again when there was less traffic so we can get a good highway roll and he denied that as well. The lack of gear my car had paired with the 26 inch slicks and big cam made it terrible to pull from around 100-125. Thats why if you notice i raced the supra with my street tires (25 inch and does not expand like a slick) so it wouldnt have as big a dead spot and would pull through the beginning of 3rd gear much stronger.
