Thats not really typical in a highway race so something could have been wrong, or maybe the f-bod is gutted and the Cobra is full interior so there could be a lot of weight difference. Just throwing some stuff out there, street races dont always work out like they should on paper.

2 very fast cars, i bet the SS had a good amount of torque to throw him out in front at first. but being short that kind of hp points to things like weight, torque and aerodynamics and of course driver.
