The name is the stupidest name I've heard for an air intake yet!

They should put a big pic of some geese across the intake to match the name

It flows better than the the BlackWing, VaraRam, and the FIPK, but you need to cut a hole in the radiator shroud in front of the car.

It's expensive though. They want just under $500 for one. Gotta love Vette tax.

OH I've seen that before...had no idea it was the best though. I always thought the one that had tubes going from the front ducts to the filter was the best.

They're close but somebody did an independent test and the "Honker" flowed better.

Honker...LOL...what were they thinking...

Edit: Oh, and the Mass Air is relocated up next to the TB...

Yeah that's the first thing I thought too, but I think it has something to do with the air turbulence? I'll see if I can dig up the article...

I am taking this thread off-topic LoL but oh well

It's a modded LS1 but you get the idea:

Quote:
We tested the Honker very early in its life at MTI Georgia on both of our developmental vehicles. The red car when originally modified in 98 had the blackwing wich is about all that was available. As time went on we went from the Vortex to the Vararam both with better results because they are true cold air packages. Our testing with the Honker gave us both superior dyno results and was the only package that actually include inprovement on both the front and back half of the 1/4 mile. The parts are quality produced, installation is not complicated and its our cold air package of choice on all C5 and C6 MTI packages.

There are plenty of pullied Cobra's making 15 lbs of boost. The guy I raced has a 2.8 upper and I'm not sure what crank pulley.

The truth of the matter is that he hooked, I hooked and my car pulled him. I'm not saying that my Vette is faster than every pullied Cobra. Some cars run stronger than others so you never know. I can honestly say that it's going to be a close run between a pullied Cobra and a stock 02+ Z06.

If I can get a pullied Cobra in the area to run me I would be more than glad to catch it on video to show the difference between the 2 cars.

He and i raced a few times short distance and it was close and i told him that dude i hneed to race you where i can shift to 3rd and 4th and he said, dude my car has great 3rd and 4th gear plus aero will help a lot and i said, dont underestimate cops topends also and we raced 3 times in a ro on a farm road him in 1st gear at 40mph and me in 2nd we punched and all three times i saw his whole car in my rear view mirror and he said "dude you car pulls crazy"
a lot of people underestimates cobras topends and for some reasion whoever i beat, i beat them on my 3rd or 4th gear.
It sounds like your friend can't drive.

How much power did your Cobra make?

When a 01-04 Z06 and 03/04 Cobra race, the Cobra usually needs atleast 100rwhp more then the Z06 to make it a good race.... From my experience atleast. But you can never tell when youre on the street, so....
I was at this race. It was from a roll and pworldstang made 455/468 and he instantly jumped out on the z06. It was an 02 or 03 i can't remember. The z06 had and slp catback

As I posted on the other site, one does not need a pullied cobra to beat a stock C5 z06. A simple intake/exhaust/tune will get the job done. Also depends a lot on the drivers as well....

I think they hate me over there. I love Cobra's but it just seem's like a lot of Cobra drivers have no clue what their talking about.

Don't take offense to the guys over there. They just love their cars thats all...if an 03 Cobra owner came on the Corvette boards saying his pulley'd Cobra would beat a stock Z06 it would be just like it is over there.

For what its worth, I don't hate you.

Thanks man

I just can't believe that those guys all think a pullied Cobra would kill a stock C5 Z06. Even if the pullied Cobra does beat the Z06 it isn't going to be by much.
