i met him and some friends at a local meet, and i thought he said he had a smaller upgraded turbo and stock motor, but it ended up being a built motor and 60 trim w/ anitlag. we went fro ma dig:
not sure I didn't pay attention before hand. It wasn't for money and I wanted to try out thebottle with the new tires. Hooked prett good IMO. Good run though, I can't complain. I think some one sid after the fact he trapped 130ish but still fun
very much so, were you there? where ever we met there were a bunch of people. I still have some mods to get into that guy's class but hey...my next on is a tc78
Holy shit that was a serious business dig. Good run, great vid.
ya the hoosiers kept pace with the evo pretty well, i tried to spin them but they didnt let go and i jsut went throught hte brakes and said fuck it. they did pretty well for being cold. my student loan just came in so i might splurge for a line lock...
nice run and pretty nice vid from the rear. That evo was fast. Show him some american muscle next time!!!

Had to trade switch over to real world, "don't need boost to make power"
Cool videos. Why do the ricers always put their flashers on if they beat you?...that's pretty gay.

Quick evo and honorable death. What is anti-lag turbo exactly? Just a turbo engineered to not have any lag? I would think that's more of a combination of engine and turbo than just the turbo, but I'm no expert.
I agree on the hazards particularly at the point he used them. It seemed like he had just gotten a length or two on you and decided the race was over then.

it is so the turbo will build boost off the line and he wont have to wait for it to spool.
And op nice death, what size shot are you running?
Anti lag is something else. It's expensive to run on the street but the WRC cars use it. I'm no engineer but I believe the basic idea is too keep the turbo spooled to the gills even off boost. Like Hennytime mentioned, what we saw the Evo do is called a two step. Hold the clutch in. Hold the gas in. Let your tune determine where the RPM's hold. From the factory the ECU's rev ceiling is 5K RPM's IIRC. The sky's the limit once you reflash the ECU.
It's also highly unlikely the car has a 60 trim turbo since the Evo's 4G63 motor requires a reverse scroll setup and I've never heard of one. He's probably running a 50 trim. IMHO it's probably the best turbo for the Evo if you intend only to use pump gas. It's also really unlikely that his car actually put down 500whp. Best I've seen with a 50 trim was a stroked 2.3L Evo VIII putting down 496whp. The best thing about the 50 trim isn't the peak power though. It's the torque. You'll make peak power at around 7K RPM's but you'll make peak torque around 4K RPM's. My point is that he's most likely putting down about 400whp/415wtq on a Dynojet...give or take 15whp/20wtq. It's still a strong car but you'll need to go bigger than a 50 trim to see 500whp on an Evo. True story.
